long time no jfashion post - i love this outfit so much i had to post it again but on my feed ( ≧▽≦)/♪ this is my first attempt at a true agejo gyaru code after admiring the style for so long yippeee ~ ☆ (i didnt have time for nails though oops)

i’ve been recovering from endometriosis excision surgery lately so this is from a month ago >.< still hurting a lil bit… ouchhh but im hanging in there !!

fuwa fuwa time~!! 🎸this cosplay is kinda a long time dream… I used to have a secret k-on yuri tumblr in 2010-12 (see last slide lmao…) they were kinda the friends in middle school i never had !!

i love k-on i love @curbstompkiki i love getting to be the azunyan to your yui even though our personalities are kinda the opposite irl yippeee next time if i do her again i will redo her wig >.<

aoi mukuo cosplay from totono!! i’ve wanted to do aoi for so long im glad i finally got to it :) if you like doki doki literature club i highly rec this vn i think of it as its better predecessor !! i keep doing denpa visual novel girls… perhaps saya next? anyways my health has been pretty bad since getting covid again (😭) but im sooo glad i made it out to ala nonetheless !! i have lots more cos ideas planned… yayyy

It was such a delight to meet Amanda at @harajukudayla in Little Tokyo.

“I was born and raised in Los Angeles! My first official Harajuku Day, as it’s known now, was in April 2023, and I’ve been attending on and off since then. But I’ve actually been going to LA’s Harajuku events/walks since 2014! I really love the sense of community and getting to see everyone be their authentic selves. I first fell in love with Harajuku fashion as a child in the mid-2000s, scouring LiveJournal and scans of Fruits, Kera, and GLB, dreaming of the day I could wear the styles myself. When I finally saved up enough to buy my first Lolita dress in high school, I was too shy to wear it out alone! Now, being surrounded by people who share the same passion for these subcultures feels incredibly special.

“I wasn’t able to attend events for quite a while (and still continue to face challenges) because of chronic illness and disability, which makes moments like this feel so precious to me. Getting to go out and dress up feels like reclaiming a little piece of myself each time. When my body feels weak or uncooperative, Jfashion becomes a kind of armor. Even when I can’t control what’s happening inside, I can still create something beautiful on the outside and find joy and agency through style! :)

“I’m really passionate about Japanese music and fashion history. From jpop idols to vkei to para para music/eurobeat, so many fashion subcultures are so intertwined to the music of the time! I love exploring this connection, collecting CDs, magazines, and other media along the way. Beyond that, I enjoy graphic design and illustration, collecting figures, and dabbling in cosplay.

“Through the years of being into jfashion I always switch around different styles from gyaru to lolita to jirai and mori kei (I love them all!) I went for a Shiro Lolita coord for today’s Vkei meetup! Gothic Lolita has always been deeply connected with Visual Kei, but this time I wanted to try something a little different from a usual all-black look. Kaya, a vkei artist i admire, has done some all white gothic coordinates so I was very inspired by that for my look today! I wanted to capture a ghostly, elegant vibe~” taken in Harajuku Day by @amandareiter
