Time for the obligatory random selfie! As one of life's introverts, sharing photos of myself feels a little uncomfortable. I prefer to speak through my paintings. I'm a homebody. I paint the things I love. I love vintage china and old furniture, I spent my childhood going to auctions with my Dad and helping him to restore furniture. I work one day a week in my local farmshop, I love being in my vegetable patch, and Im married to a wonderful chef. So the things I paint aren't just random objects, and that's quite difficult to express sometimes.

'Three Plums'
Its been such a busy week in the studio that I almost forgot to post my latest still life painting.
I really enjoyed painting these plums, especially the subtle colour changes between the deep purples and warmer reds and I always love painting the chalky bloom.

Original, oil on canvas board
8x5 inches, ready to frame
£185

I've been working on these three plums in the studio.

I love the subtle colour changes in their skins, from the warmer plum reds to the deepest purples.

A little still life of 'Two Lemons on a French Cloth' I probably spend as much time playing around and arranging the cloth as I do actually painting, or as I call it faffing about! But I really love the blue stripe so hopefully worth the effort.

This painting has now been framed as is available from Aqualibrium Gallery.

7x5in, original oil painting on canvas board.

A little studio view today of lemons on the easel 🍋

Just thought I’d share a few photos of the painting coming together. The first photo is the finished oil painting on the easel, followed by the underpainting and then the set-up at the very start.
