So, I’ve been getting a bunch of messages asking how I started modeling, what pushed me to start, and what I’ve learned along the way. 💕

This one is for my girls who are trying to build a modeling career but don’t really know where to start. I’m still learning and figuring things out myself, but these are some of the things I wish someone had told me when I was starting out.

I started modeling because I genuinely love it. And honestly, I think that’s one of the most important things to figure out when choosing a career path.

There have been shoots where I’m completely exhausted afterwards, but I’ve never gotten home and thought, “I don’t want to do this again.” 😂 If anything, I’m already thinking about the next one.

Because when you genuinely love what you do, the difficult seasons don’t automatically make you want to quit. You find a reason to keep going.

So start with what you have. Collaborate with the people around you too. Your photographer friend, makeup artist friend, stylist or fashion designer, hairstylist, or creative friends can all help you create, experiment, and build your portfolio together. You don’t always have to wait for a big paid job to gain experience. Take the opportunities that make sense for you. Collaborate, learn, network, communicate, and most importantly, enjoy the process.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. Sometimes, the small steps you take today are what prepare you for the bigger opportunities tomorrow.

To every beginner model reading this: keep going. Your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. 🫶🏽
