Algae
Stinging Nettle • Yo y la hortiga una vez más en nuestras mil y una vidas •
And pine

After 45 minutes of consistent shaking alongside the best of combos @sietsske @oayixnehc
The dedicated time that is the developing of film with nature

I had escaped that morning for a capturing walk
I wanted to finish my pinhole and see what I could find
the late summer airs were calling me to the forest

Out of nowhere, when I was making my way back
I saw something in the water
It took me a good amount of time to realize that it was a head

A big elk was fully bathing in the river
And I just happened to stumble upon
I rushed and got close to the shore
We looked at each other for a while
…
And when it finally decided it was done with our exchange
It made its way out
And I quickly made a shot. It truly felt like he paused a couple of times to give me enough time to register his presence. I am deeply grateful.
To this day, it feels like a dream

I play with loss on the film
Risking it at all times
So I consistently find myself praying
For some shots to come out
~ isn’t that a bit of a joke ~

I stayed quiet all day telling no one about my encounter, I wanted to see first if the photo had remained.

To my excitement, it did
Thank you
For the beauty of the developer @oayixnehc
Whose traces I can still sense through the image

Perhaps the two accompanying films and the dedicated shaking, were the necessary offerings, for these ones to come through 💙

During BURN (The photography workshop we were invited to at @konstkollektivet last month), @nannahammertiittanen walked us through the process of making our own pinhole cameras

The beauty of building out of the most common materials
a device capable of translating light
Of holding in your hands
A camera so small that you can carry it tide to your belt
to collaborate in the task of seeing the world

Nana says, that because of the nature of the pinhole
… true also for so much more than this…
You have to take photos with your body somehow

So now let me share with you, the roll of
what me, my body, and my pinhole camera saw that day taken in Mölndal, Göteborg by @amarantabrock

On notes about creation and play
We forget
That we build the world through exploration

As time goes by
I discover myself increasingly more unable to speak about what it is that you ought to do

But I find it that it might be an intriguing invitation
To propose that when faced with…
You ask yourself
If this space too, could be your playground

What creation might come from you
When you cease to negotiate with the non-existent rules of a space as wide and vast as your imagination

On that thread
I have made a website

✶·∿◌✶· You are all formally invited to my playground. Go play with my creation. ✶·∿◌✶ by @amarantabrock

☆꧁༒Submerged
boiled, and stirred
in essence, salts
And spice

Passed through airport X-ray
Multiple (non-calculated) exposures
over the film that stayed
in the forgotten dark room
For over 30 years

*It seems to me that everything in this universe has a spirit, and exists for its own reasons.*
Who am I, to attempt control
Over that which will be, and already is
beyond me, my eye and my desires

The photos that became
after the multiple endangerment
And the beauty that was The Infinite Now - the blissful stage of 30h of consecutive music at Kraftwerk. Hours of succumbing into sleep and waking up, surrounded by music.༒꧂☆ taken in Berlin, Germany by @amarantabrock

Chapter ~••_1. Because you @leifmountainman suggested they sounded like chapters.

Manchmal denke ich, dass Sehnsucht und Verlust dieselbe Sprache sprechen
• Sometimes I think longing and loss speak the same language •

What does it mean to make an offering to loss?
I like endangering the film
My already particular 30yo expired film

Ver las fotos que se sobrelapan la una sobre la otra
Las ramas que parecen fuego
La ciudad que es casa
Mi mano que bloqueando el sol a medias quedó registrada en dos momentos diferentes

Something remained after all the manipulation
I cry for the world
I remember worlds are born out of that which we cannot even imagine
I make my offerings, to remind myself
that this world of beauty is worth creating for by @amarantabrock
