How do we understand imperialism as a global system with military, economic, and cultural dimensions? And what does it mean to be an effective anti-imperialist in 2026?

In this session, speakers will trace western imperialism’s historical roots, ongoing manifestations, and Britain’s entanglement within it. We’ll look at how the US and its allies are deploying imperial tactics - trade agreements, sanctions, debt, coups, cultural hegemony & more - in order to cling on to waning global power, and we’ll explore what anti-imperialist organising looks like at a local, national and international level.

In this session, we hope to cover the ground between what has happened, what is currently happening, and what might be coming down the line with regards to anti-immigration policing and enforcement.

We will discuss what has been happening in the US both in terms of the tactics of ICE and the resistance to them. And, we’ll be asking the questions: could any of this occur in the UK? What’s already been proposed? And, how could we organise to effectively resist it?

Really excited to get my hands on a copy of this beautiful book! Already learning so much about the struggles in Italy in the 70s from the first few sections, so much to learn for contemporary organisers about what it practically looks like to broaden our political imagination of what’s possible. On 2 May 2024, 44 peaceful processors were arrested in Peckham for halting the forced transfer of asylum seekers to the Bibby Stockholm barge.

That barge has since been condemned, scandalised, and shut down. But nearly a year and a half later, our comrades are still facing trial — not for harming anyone, but for standing against a racist system that criminalises protest and dehumanises migrants.

*Here to stay! Here to fight!*

Fascists are coming to Whitechapel this October - but we won’t let them take our streets!

East London has run racists out of town before, and we’ll do it again - but it’s going to take all of us coming out onto the streets.

Join the People’s Rally at Altab Ali Park on 19th October to hear more and build momentum for the counter-demo!

Join the counter-demo on 25th October to show these racists that East London is anti-fascist!

See you on the streets.

It has been an incredible privilege to be working with a brilliant crew of Black activists to develop BLM’s Festival of Collective Liberation 2025!

The festival is ambitiously programmed, covering everything from prison abolition to mad liberation, the revolutionary situation in Burkina Faso to solidarity with Sudan, building Black worker power to anti-fascist strategies.

Join us to reflect on the legacy of anti-fascist organising in Britain — from the 1970s to today, our communities have always resisted. One year on from last summer’s pogroms, we come together to honour that history and look forward.
