@_rusowsky at @thaliahallchicago was an unforgettable show. His music is trendsetting, pulling from so many influences to create a unique, experimental sound. On top of that, his stage presence was unreal, performing on an injured foot and still jumping around. A reminder of how much artists sacrifice for the love of art taken in Thalia Hall by @ambercita

Hi my name is Ambercita. I’ve been a photographer for 5 years. There would be so many times when I was editing that my add would have me so distracted watching either tiny desk or music videos. In love with both, the raw performance or seeing the passion unfold on a screen with no cuts or retakes and then the other side of that where I got to see so many different artistic abilities collectively create one vision in a music video. So compelled to MAYBE do that one day.

And did I. ..

This is me. Warming up. Dipping my toes. Terrified. The amount of time I’ve swam in the imposter syndrome pool over wanting to direct music videos. I directed my first video like two years ago and still it sits in the vault over not feeling good enough. This feeling was new to me. I never struggled with imposter syndrome when it came to photography because I felt there was no expectation. But here I land as the Ambercita, tapping into a new genre and I was and am terrified.

But ima do it anyways.
