El Bailador

Aug 2026

I tried to recreate a picture of Gene Kelly that was on the cover of Time magazine. The photo was in black and white but if you've watched Singing in the Rain, you'll know the set is pastel blue, pink and yellow. It's ethereal looking. This was my first time using oil pastels, thank you @caitymk for gifting them to me. 💜 taken in Chula Vista, California by @amberli.art

(I painted the text using gold so it shimmers in the light. I outlined the text with black but it's hard to get a good photo so I just never uploaded it.) by @amberli.art
