The biggest honor of my summer was getting to play Mel Rose in The People of Pompeii at Theatricum Botanicum. I had the absolute best time playing and becoming friends with all of these incredibly talented people 🩷🩷🩷

Oh my gosh!!!! That was SO FUN. Huge thank you to @amberluallen and @kielkennedy for having me. It’s been a long time since I’ve done any #sketchcomedy at @thegroundlings and let me tell you, it was a TRIP. Diving back into the whirlwind day of prep, the rapid costume changes, the planned moments, the unplanned moments, the immediate trust between fellow players, many of whom had just met that day- it took me to a higher vibration. And it reminded me of all I have loved about this art form. Thank you to the cast and to the friendly faces in the audience who came out. Live theatre! Live comedy! Community! Humanity! Had a nice time doing some soil searching on this tour for Sex Rules. @sexrulesshow

Found some really good soil in St. Louis and Hannibal and Kansas City especially.

So thankful that I get to give this important message to college students while exploring parts of the country I wouldn't normally go to❤️

Spent a lot of this trip self-reflecting, obsessing over things that cannot be (me getting younger), and looking for answers in the soil. I should have spent more time appreciating the things I have that I am thankful for (A still young bod).

Spent a lot of time in Mark Twain's childhood bedroom and found one of my new favorite reads, The Diary of Eve which was written shortly after the death of his wife and was suspected to be an ode to her. I cried a little reading it. Eve is written so wonderfully curious about the world and very self assured.

"The Moon got loose last night, and slid down and fell out of the scheme-- a very great loss; it breaks my heart to think of it. There isn't another thing among the ornaments and decorations that is comparable to it for beauty and finish. It should have been fastened better. If we can only get it back again-- but of course there is no telling where it went to. And besides, whoever gets it will hide it; I know it because I would do it myself. I believe I can be honest in all other matters, but I already begin to realize that the core and center of my nature is love of the beautiful, a passion for the beautiful, and that it would not be safe to trust me with a moon that belonged to another person and that person didn't know I had it."

Our sweetest Ben had to say goodbye suddenly yesterday. Our home now feels like there's a big Benny Bad Ass hole in it. Ben was not everyone's favorite (that's Murphy). He was more choosy and unapologetically himself. He was loyal as hell to Jared and stood his ground. He protected our home and stood watch at the end of our bed while we slept. He would often come and put his heavy self on top of our chest in the middle of the night if one of us woke up from a bad dream. He literally did this Sunday night for Jared.
I'm thankful I was home putting away laundry yesterday morning spending time with him making himself comfortable on my stack of clean tank tops. His big personality is unmatched. We miss his chirps, his trills, his airy almost meows. We miss when he would get his little spurts of energy and run in and out of the bedroom. We miss his constant cleaning of his brother. We miss the moments that he would get super snuggly and wiggly. We miss his majestic regal self.
His big spirit will be with us Always.
