A wonderful Night of Worship at FBJ!

Just a moment of encouragement: I truly don’t even recognize the man child in these photos, he’s supposed to still be 5. He WAS 5 banging on drums and this church loved him. So here’s my advice…Consistently help your children choose to be in church and surrounded by the people of God….above and beyond every other activity…even good ones.

Orchestra, choir, youth group, the mentors, the adults, the friends, the mission trips…all of these things have helped shaped and grow Wil Franklin into who he is and is still becoming. NO other activity has been as eternally impactful as prioritizing being in church. Don’t let the world fool you into believing your kids are missing out by choosing church first. Even if you take criticism for it, and we have. But tonight, watching WF love leading worship….nothing else seemed to even compare.

Wil Franklin and I had the incredible honor of being recognized by Goodwill Industries of Mississippi as Outstanding Volunteers of the Year at the Goodwill Salute — and, somehow, we became the first mother and son duo to receive this honor together. How fun!!

Of all the things I could say about tonight, that is the part that means the most to me.

To look around the room and see so many family, dear friends, mentors, and people we love who have encouraged and invested in us made an already special night even sweeter. Thank you for celebrating with us. We felt so very loved.

Thank you to Goodwill Industries of Mississippi for this tremendous honor and for the work you do every day to create opportunity, dignity, and hope in our community.

Wil Frank, getting to share this with you is something I will never forget. I am so proud of the young man you are becoming, and I pray God allows us both the opportunity to continue to serve.

May 2026 - We could barely keep up with all the wonderful things this month has brought us so far.
Loved celebrating Henry and Wil Franklin at their Honors Forums.
Sarah Cate and Callie had 4th grade Commencement and graduation from the JPLS.
We kicked off Senior Year with a Show Choir Senior Parent dinner.
Matt and I celebrated 24 years of marriage.
We loved watching Callie worship through ballet at Ballet Magnificat’s Spring performance.
The Redeemer’s School broke ground on our new property- such a fun endeavor for me to be a part of…

Happy 13th Birthday James Henry Collins!! We have loved every minute of the adventure of being your parents. We are so thankful God gave you to us and can’t wait to see how God uses you for His Kingdom. Right now you love soccer, fencing, and sailing. You love to read and are writing your first book. You still love Star Wars and Legos and of course any animal. You notice others and care deeply. You are so very inquisitive and ask questions all the time. We love you so much!!
