Sometimes you wake up around 3am to pottery breaking. It wasn’t my best effort but I did like the glaze on the outside (not pictured). Sam. It was Sam. 😼 #lordsamuelbutterscotch #orangecat #catsandpottery #thisiswhywecanthavenicethings by @ambermarisacook
The world premiere of Six Inches Above the Knee by Sally Seitz opens tomorrow evening. It’s an important piece and quite relevant. Scenic design by Kathy Voecks, assisted by Alaina Hamilton, Lighting and projection by Chris Haug, properties by Allison Gary, TD Jeff Luetkenhaus, Scenic supervisor Patric Sullivan, Stage Manager Izzy Paisley, with costumes by me, assisted by Basile Mann with Benjamin Streeter’s magical costume build and management powers. Sound design by Huhao Yang. Co-Directors Charles Goforth and Aryn Marshall. Actors pictured: Josephine Clamser and Abbie Van Pelt. Also, shout out to Benjie Heu for the ceramics support! #dobbinsconservatory #lanfordwilsonnewplayfestival by @ambermarisacook

Today we finally had the grand opening for an idea I’ve been mulling over for a few years. Ruth’s Restroom Repository- a small archive of a some of the textiles used in production each season since the shift to the new costume shop in 2014. Each year also has a roster of the costume shop staff and costume designers for that season. I named it after Ruth, the ghost long rumored to inhabit the costume stock- I hope it brings her joy too. It’s a silly little thing, but seeing the collages of fabric from seasons past makes me smile and brightens an otherwise boring space. #blackhillsplayhouse #costumedesign #repository #ruththeghost by @ambermarisacook
