9.15: a day that changed our lives forever. It has been ten years without my sweet Evan– the most life-altering soul I have ever met. I am forever better for knowing him and for loving him. A whole decade has passed. In that time I have observed grief thoroughly, yet I still don’t quite know how to put it into words. I do know that I still feel him with me. I see him in the color purple and still believe he sends me bears, butterflies, and bees when he knows I need him. I understand now that grief is fundamentally rooted in love, and he taught me immense amounts about both. I am reminded often that life is a precious, fleeting thing, and not to be taken for granted. My heart is tender to all lives, big and small. The depths in which I have been touched by heaviness, I may now also meet joy, because after all, ‘to grieve deeply is to have loved fully.” I am softer to it all & that is a beautiful thing. I have continued to let his love and loss be a beacon in this lifetime. I think back to the 20 year old version of me that felt so uncertain and undeserving about so many things, but Evan came along and breathed so much wonder and joy into my life. He saw a light in me that I continue to try to share and embody to this very day. I hope I am becoming, and will continue to blossom into, a person he would be proud of. I carry with me his love and his lessons. I reminiscence often on the sound of his laughter. And I carry tight to my chest our precious memories. If I can share with this world even a fraction of the light Evan gifted me, it will be a life worth living.✨ Hold your people close, tell them you love them, & keep your feet in the present. To all of those that kept me afloat when I couldn’t do it alone, thank you, I love you, and I truly wouldn’t be here today if I wasn’t loved on so fiercely when I needed it. My life is yours, as much as it is mine. The world will always be missing you, Ev. There’s a certain sparkle in my eye that will always be saved for you. I know I’ll see you again, but until then, I will find you in quiet moments and small glimmers. • Welcome Amber Amber is een pitcher en power hitter, die bakken aan ervaring meeneemt naar Nederland. Nadat ze afstudeerde aan Campbell University, heeft ze haar carrière voorgezet in Nieuw-Zeeland. Tussendoor heeft ze de nodigeinternationale ervaring opgedaan als speelster in Oostenrijk, bij Europa Cups namens Mediterrano (Malta) en Praag Eagles (Tsjechië). Amber komt oorspronkelijk uit het zonnige San Diego. Behalve op het veld doet Amber ook heel veel voor de sport naast het veld. Zo heeft ze al veel ervaring opgedaan als hoofdcoach en pitchertrainer in Oostenrijk en van 2019 tot 2022 als assistent en pitchercoach voor de University of San Diego (D1). Al met al zal Amber als verlengstuk van de coaches in het veld opereren, en neemt ze zeer specifieke kennis mee waar we op de club veel van kunnen leren! We kijken er ontzettend naar uit haar hier te ontvangen en met Amber te werken aan het huidige én het toekomstige Neptunus. Welkom bij de club, Amber!🔱🧜🏻‍♀️ by @amberschisler
