I recently attended a webinar on mermaids ..

by the sea, in my motherland, watching the blue and silver mist one evening.

I hadn’t planned it this way, but the setting felt aligned; each thought extending into the landscape.

What emerged was less a history of the mermaid as decorative folklore, than a human preoccupation with thresholds — symbols reimagined across time, revealing evolving ways of thinking ..

In many ways, mermaids mirror how I experience belonging; the pull towards places and people that feel familiar, but never quite allow full arrival.
