Be mindful of the words you say and to who you say them too. Saying something for “shock value” to get a rise out of someone is violating. No woman wants to feel violated. Every woman I know has delt with feeling violated, harassment, and sexual abuse in many forms. Saying things to trigger someone into a dissociated state is not okay. You are dealing with a fawning response now not consent. Check in. Look them in the eyes. Can you see them? Or are they hiding ? Making someone feel safe is the bare minimum of empathy. It’s not just a one time thing to make someone feel “safe” or “cared for” then check out unconsciously. Safety is a culture of empathy and respect. It is how you listen not to respond or react, but to understand and ATTUNE. It is in every interaction, every word, every touch. Feeling safe inside our own body is something that needs more support in our current culture. We only have this body and it should be treated as sacred. Especially since the unconscious beliefs of distorted/weak/toxic masculinity is to make a woman feel smaller. That doesn’t just reside in the man it is equally perpetuated by women too. One is not better than the other but something we have to work together with. I am truly grateful for all the men and women I encountered @kineticfireretreat. Gave me hope for humanity and the divine feminine and divine masculine that is within all of us. by @amelia_turner
