Four years ago today, my whole world changed. The day my dad got sick and the day I had to say goodbye to him changed me forever. Watching him fight cancer and seeing the strongest person I knew slowly lose his strength was something no one should ever have to go through. The man I had always looked up to, the man I thought could fix anything, was my superhero. Seeing him slowly fade away shattered my heart in ways I never knew were possible.

Four years have passed, but there still isn’t a single day that I don’t think about him. I still catch myself wishing I could call him, tell him about my day, hear his laugh, or get one more hug. I would give anything just to hear him tell me he loves me one more time.

I hope he knows how much I love him and how thankful I am for every memory we made together. I hope I’m making him proud every single day, because everything I do, I do with him in my heart.
