I was super on the fence about making a post like this, as I don’t want it to come across as performative. I truly believe in making everyone feel as comfortable as possible and creating a safe environment. As an awkward/neurodiverse person I make it my mission to take the difficulty out of being in front of the camera for everyone. Also it’s so easy just to be nice to people isn’t it? Any suggestions in the comments please feel free to let me know! 💕 by @ameliajread

Something a little different today as I realised I never really uploaded any pictures from my headshot session with @ameliajread last year which was honestly one of the BEST photoshoot experiences I've ever had despite putting off doing it for yeeeeaars and being absolutely *not* circus (the happy comfort place). Amelia captured my face (the mission for the day) but this also happened towards the end and idk, I kinda love this one. Considering sitting on chairs weird was a big part of kickstarting my arts career and where this account first took off (thanks to anyone still here from the mainly life drawing era! 🙏🙏🙏🫶), there's something apt about this. If part of the point of headshots is to show a bit of you in non-show mode, sitting weird, stripey socks, and face bunched up laughing at something is maybe not what you see on stage or in the training videos I post here but absolutely part of actual life. Thanks @ameliajread for making headshots comfortable, genuine, and actually affordable - and @freya_averley for buddying up for these and adding to making ticking this off the to do list so much more of a relaxed/fun occasion. ✨️ If you're in the North East and needing headshots (or even just fancy passing through), Amelia is honestly the one to go to 🙏💖 __________________ by @ameliajread

Funny Weather independent bookshop and cafe near the Health, London. Completed this year (2026). It was such a joy to design, build and install @funnyweatherbooks for Celeste and Ed. Two people who have conjured such a magic space. The tastiest coffee, incredible selection of literature and absolute vibe. Words from @funnyweatherbooks Co-Founder Ed: “Funny weather took a long time. Years of tunnelling, analysing, second-guessing, future-proofing; some false starts, some cold feet, a lot of day dreaming. Parker and Co knew how to take all that kinetic energy and build something solid with it. Something that would last. They used wood and metal and an occasional tape measure and built us a future. And they did it whilst being the easiest, kindest, funniest people around. They do have a habit of sitting down for a mid-morning hard boiled egg together- take that as a warning- but in exchange you get to walk around inside your own imaginings. And it’s better than you ever thought it could be. Tim is a bandleader, and a time traveler- able to see your potential long before you can. He has big thumbs and a big heart and with those things he will steer you right. He’ll build you a world.” Photography by the brilliant @ameliajread by @ameliajread
