SAVE THE DATES — WINTER IS COMING TO THE CALENDAR CYCLE! Three months. Three plays. Three different visions of Black life in a futuristic America. The @americancalendarcycle continues our USA 250 celebration, exploring American holidays, history, and traditions through a Black lens. HERE’S OUR WINTER LINEUP: KWANZA CLAUS | Friday, December 11 Christmas meets Kwanzaa inside a struggling Black electronics store, where a robot Santa, family secrets, and holiday traditions collide. Can this family save their business without losing what makes them family? CYCLIN’ | Friday, January 8 A New Year’s story of second chances, halfway houses, bicycles, and the difficult road toward freedom. What happens when moving forward means confronting everything you’ve been trying to leave behind? BLACK MAIL | Friday, February 12 A futuristic post office, a Black filmmaker, and a world where private messages and memories are no longer private. Who controls our stories when technology controls the mail? ALL READINGS AT @ujamaacommunitybookstore 2424 Dr. MLK Jr. St., Indianapolis, IN Each evening features local artists, a developmental staged reading, and a community conversation where your reactions and feedback help shape the next draft. Save the dates, bring somebody with you, and help us keep building original Black theatre in Indianapolis.
