Every gift makes a difference! This Thanksgiving, you have the power to help our neighbors access fresh food with dignity, independence, and choice. Through Flanner House's Choice Is Power Food Justice Campaign, we're working to raise $25,000 by November 20 to support food access and long-term stability for families in our community. Whether you give $25, $50, or more, your generosity helps us move closer to that goal. And for those looking to make a lasting impact, our Dignity Circle offers an opportunity to support food justice year-round through monthly giving. No contribution is too small to be part of meaningful change. Donate today; link is in the bio! Need help? Visit Flanner House at 2424 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street or call 211. #ChoiceIsPower #FlannerFoodJustice #46208 #Share by @ujamaacommunitybookstore

The last Volta Poetry Open Mic is less than a week away and we are over here... working on our serious faces... It's almost game time friends! We are very excited to see you at the last Volta Poetry Open Mic, Thursday Oct 29th at 7 pm! by @ujamaacommunitybookstore
Hi everyone, this is Dr Adam. I just wanted to personally invite you to the Season Finale of Volta, our free all-ages poetry open mic at Ujamaa Community Bookstore. This is the end of our 4th year and we would really like you to come celebrate with us. Whether you are new, a regular, or haven't been in a while, we would really love to see you. It has been a blessing to host this show alongside @aalihyab and @sree_munju. They were just teens when we started and now they are grown up poets! I hope you will celebrate their growth as well. I am deeply considering changing the format of the show for season 5--perhaps adding a workshop component, or having a salon-style dinner, or maybe switching it up from month to month. I am excited to hear your feedback. As for now, we are going to end Season 4 with a big shebang of a show. The date is October 29th at 7:00 pm. Bring your costumes. Bring your spooky poems. Or just come as you are. We can't have a celebration without you! We are excited to see you! -- Dr Henzbo by @ujamaacommunitybookstore
