Would you swap loose skin for a permanent scar? After losing over 100lb, my beautiful journalist friend Amerley Ollennu chose brachioplasty—an arm lift—with surgeon Patrick Mallucci. In part one, we talk about the reasons behind that very personal decision. Stay tuned for part two, as Amerley shows us her scars, explains why healing hasn’t gone as hoped and discusses her laser treatment. by @amerleyollennu
I still can’t believe that this time last week I was in Iceland with @bluelagoonskinscience @rkmcomms and the lovely journos @theeditorslist @alicehartdavis @victoriawoodhall 🤍 The scenery was insanely breathtaking & the healing waters of the blue lagoon were beyond blissful. Naturally I did a lot of bathing in the Blue Lagoon, but I also made use of the massive tub in my room - where I tested all the Blue Lagoon Skin Science bath & body bits. I’m happy to report they’re uber-nourishing & have a really uplifting scent. When I wasn’t submerged in water, I went to visit the brand’s lab and get a peek into how the products are made. I also discovered what makes them so special - it’s the bioactive geothermal seawater FYI. With skincare, bodycare, and haircare to choose from there’s something for everyone to try. I particularly loved the BL+ skincare line. The clinically proven formulas combine gold-standard actives with the Blue Lagoon’s famed water - which contains protective and skin strengthening microalgae and silica. I actually felt the silica under my feet while soaking in the Blue Lagoon. My recs from the range would be the BL+ Serum & the Lip Mask (I’m obsessed with this one!). I didn’t see the Northern Lights - one of my life goals - but hopefully next time 🤞🏽. #bluelagoon #beautyeditor #iceland by @amerleyollennu
When your paywalled feature is so popular it makes it into print 😜 I do often wonder why I am sooo open and honest about all things weight, weight-loss, self-esteem and dating!? But my experiences seem to resonate with others, and if by reading my pieces people realise that they’re really not the only one, and maybe feel a little less alone, then that’s a pretty decent payoff. #glp1 #weightlossbeforeandafter #glp1journey #datingadviceforwomen #brachioplasty by @amerleyollennu

For her latest @stylistmagazine article @lucyabbers asked me to share my favourite transitional scent. One that you’ll reach for now, but also as we transition into autumn. As a beauty editor for over two decades, I’ve seen the evolution of filler, and I get why it needs a rebrand. Cue what I’ve dubbed filler 2.0, a new generation of dermal filler that’s designed to look incredibly natural. But is it really that much different to filler of old? Or is the buzz simply a response to the rise of biostimulators, which have quickly become the injectable of choice? I asked the experts @theaestheticsdoctor & @thedailyglow_ for their take. Find out what they had to say in my latest feature for @marieclaireuk Link in bio #AestheticMedicine #Injectables #DermalFillers #Biostimulators #lipfillers by @amerleyollennu
