New year, same me, different rules.
I’m keeping the books I love.
Cutting the noise, the overload, the chaos.

This will be my happy place again.

This world is exhausting.
This is my escape.

I have to admit. I was influenced. A 12-foot skeleton romance? Obviously I needed to see wtf was going on. 💀😂

𝓝𝓸 𝓑𝓸𝓷𝓮𝓼 𝓐𝓫𝓸𝓾𝓽 𝓘𝓽 by @cassandraelizzabeth is the spooky read I needed in my life! It follows newly divorced Tori Graves, who buys the giant Halloween skeleton her ex never let her have. The HOA declares war, Mr. Bonejangles goes viral, and somehow she catches feelings. Apparently, he does too. 👀

Bought this one directly from the author, and look at all these goodies! A signed book, spooky extras, and supporting an indie author? Absolutely!! Can’t wait to read it!

❓Would you fall for Mr. Bonejangles, or are we drawing the line at lawn decor❓ 😂

Aliens, cryptids, and things I will NOT be investigating in the woods. 👽🙅🏻‍♀️

Thank you so much @cultpublishing for the e-ARC of Manuscrypt Magazine Issue Three!

This Halloween issue is all about aliens & cryptids, with short stories, artwork from indie creators, book reviews, and interviews. Plenty of weird and creepy to go around!

Swipe for a little cryptid education and a peek at what’s inside. Because apparently I needed to know more than just Bigfoot. 😂 I loved this issue, maybe more than the others simply because I could not stop reading these stories! Def check this out!

✨Releases tomorrow, October 16!

❓Are you more of an alien person or a cryptid person? And who’s your favorite❓ 👀

Thank you, @zandoprojects and the author for the free arc edition of 𝑹𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕!

I am almost halfway through and this one has the gothic, sapphic, twisty vibes.
And it releases tomorrow!!!

✨From the back cover:✨
From the bestselling author of 𝑯𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆, a chilling gothic horror novel that reimagines 𝑯𝒂𝒎𝒍𝒆𝒕 with a seductive sapphic twist-and where the only thing more dangerous than a family secret is a mother’s vengeance.
Revenge me. For l am murdered...

Odette and her best friend, Cecilia, grow up between their grand homes, in Hampstead and the imposing, ancient Herne House in Suffolk. Odette’s mother, Lydia, is almost parasitic in her neediness, but despite her, Odette and Cecilia come of age together-free to roam, to learn, and to love. When Lydia inexplicably sickens and dies, a dark veil falls. Odette’s father retreats to his study, while her aunt-the cold and cruel Claudine-increasingly takes charge of the household. Lost in grief and spiraling into madness, Odette disappears into the shadows, leaving Cecilia alone and with her affections tested.
As Claudine is announced as Odette’s new stepmother, the girls reckon with this final betrayal, and a sinister presence awakens. To her horror, Odette realizes that her mother never truly left. She now haunts the manor, ready to drag long-held secrets into the light and exact revenge against those who thought her dead and gone.
A visceral tale of grief and madness, 𝑹𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 exhumes the heart of 𝑯𝒂𝒎𝒍𝒆𝒕 to tell a fearless queer love story laced with an unforgettable haunting, asking whether we can truly outrun our suffering, or if we are forever indebted to the vengeful dead.

Slow burn still requires something to be burning.

If I’m 200 pages in and there’s no tension, no emotional buildup and no reason to care, I am no longer intrigued. I am tired. 😂
