I had the privilege of attending the co-naming of West 8th Street off of 6th Avenue to Jimi Hendrix Way with @harveyforny. Jimi Hendrix was not only an incredible musician; he knew the power of his voice, and he used it to lift up underserved communities, to speak truth to power, and to support his community. This street will honor his memory and his legacy. by @amgracelee

Joined @3rdstreetnyc for their annual open house! 4,000+ students were invited to explore and develop their skills in music and dance through teaching artists and sample lessons. The arts have always been at the heart of this community, and I am glad that our kids have a resource like the Third Street Music School to grow that legacy. 🎶 by @amgracelee

As our city welcomes more and more visitors for the World Cup and America’s 250th year of independence, the hardworking people who keep our hotels running deserve to be treated fairly for their hard work. I joined @nyhtc at the Fairfield and Four Points Hotel to rally for workers on strike and demand that management stop union busting and give them the contract they deserve. by @amgracelee

Since taking office I have continued to support @ujces in helping seniors across the East Side to age in place with dignity. I was proud to present $30,000 that I secured for them in this year’s state budget, to empower them to continue their critical work. by @amgracelee

Wepa!! Our third annual Rhythms of LES co-hosted with @dsmile218 was a joyful celebration of Puerto Rican heritage. Hundreds of people from the community came together to dance to music by CubanoRican and to enjoy delicious food from Mias Cocina. It’s an honor to host this amazing event celebrating Loisaida! by @amgracelee

Joined @thinkchinatown and @nys_secretary to celebrate the grand opening of their fully renovated studio at 1 Pike Street—a community home for art, storytelling, and intergenerational gatherings that keeps Chinatown’s history, culture, and creativity alive. With the help of state funding, this newly renovated studio will continue to be a welcoming home to creatives and the local community in Chinatown for generations to come. by @amgracelee
