Exactly one year ago, I legally earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. 👌🏽🎓
Looking back, I can honestly say it was a bittersweet journey filled with so many highs and lows, moments of excitement, frustration, self-doubt, and quite a few “what have I gotten myself into?” moments. 😂🤣
There were times I genuinely wanted to give up. Times when the journey felt too long, too demanding, and too exhausting. But then I would remember how much I had always wanted this. I remembered the little girl who dreamed of one day being called Dr., and somehow, that was enough to keep me going. And now, one year later, I sometimes realize that I probably don’t celebrate myself as much as I should. 😩 Because this? This is a BIG deal! I prayed for it, worked for it, cried for it, almost gave up on it, and eventually earned it. And I am incredibly proud of myself. 💃🏽☺️❤️
I am also proudly the first woman in my family to choose the “Dr.” title before “Mrs.” 😉 and honestly, I think that deserves a little extra celebration! 🥂
So, call me anything you like but please, don’t forget to add the Dr. 😌😂
One year of being Dr. officially. One year of remembering that I did not give up on myself. 🥂🎓
