The location of the photo shoot was a perfect match for the outfit’s architectural, sculptural look. The slightly rainy weather added even more depth and drama to the photos and the location.

It was a pleasure to design this outfit for @smuuv and to serve a first glimpse into the style of the upcoming fashion house 'odumaagbons'

A style that embodies the art of street style in my own way. I wanted to play with sculptural forms, such as the flowing lines of the draped jeans, highlighted by the handpainted belts. I liked the abstract idea of sewing pants onto pants.

•Echos of history, reshaped through art•

A project I created for Oduma Agbons for Fashion Week in Vienna and Milan a year ago and also offers a first glimpse into the style of the upcoming fashion house 'odumaagbons'

In this piece, braided belts evoke historical restrictions, transforming past burdens into a statement of strength and art.
Such as the concept quote that came up during the creation process:
"The belt is a chain from a time our people were held. Now it holds the waist by choice"

It was exciting to try out a slightly different style and figure out how to put the outfit together in a short amount of time.
The outfit consists of a blazer vest, held together by two fasteners at the side seam.
The pants consist of a base pair with an extra-wide hem, over which four hand-dyed pairs of jeans were draped. For the belts, I sewed strips of faux leather, stuffed them with cotton, braided them, and attached belt buckles.
