NYC // 2026.

The gorgeous @amina_edris, whose moves so gracefully through life. It is always a joy to take her picture; it is one of the greatest honors of my life to be her friend.

Photos 2 is from the opening night of INNOCENCE at @metopera, in which I sang The Bride. This was a candid shot of Amina — the next time I pressed the shutter button seconds later, she was laughing while looking at the camera as she realized I was snapping away. A really nice memory.

Photo 4 is from a girls’ night in NYC — sushi and ice cream, as per.

Photos 1, 3, and 5 in this carousel are the most special to me, as they are from her stunning debut as Musetta at @metopera — this was my first time taking backstage “GRWM” photos, and I loved every minute of it. It is always a privilege to see someone in ordinary moments, to capture the beauty in their daily life — even more so on such a big day.

A week on from Manon in Wellington, and honestly, we’re still trying to process what really has happened 😅.

Sharing this stage together at home has been easily one of the most special, fulfilling gigs of our lives. Especially since we are hardly ever there let alone working there. It went way beyond the music. It was seeing familiar faces flying in from everywhere, young kids getting inspired, and sharing the stage with lifelong mates just like the old days.

The buzz around town was seriously unreal. People talking about it in cafes and stores! Hearing people on the street genuinely debating the plot and yelling, “Bro, don’t go back to Manon, she doesn’t deserve you!” Or even “when you took off your priest collar we knew it was game over” had us in absolute stitches 😂😂😂😂 When do we ever get that kind of unfiltered hype for opera?! 4 completely sold out and extensive waiting lists… cmon now?!

We always miss home—the food, the pies, the flat whites—but honestly, it’s the people. Seeing so many of you pour your whole heart and soul into this production just for the absolute love of the craft, hit so deep…. Because this very rarely, if at all, happens around the world.

To Wellington Opera, the cast, the chorus, orchestra, stage crew, our incredible friends and whānau: thank you.

He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata. Couldn’t be more true.

We will always carry this aroha with us to every stage around the world. We will never stop missing you. Until next time, fam ❤️

Kia ora, Aotearoa! 🙌

What was once a wishful idea has now become a reality, and we’re beyond moved by the love and support - the love for the arts, the support for a small opera company doing big things - have been pouring in, and it’s left us speechless! 🤯 Friends, whānau, and fans from all over NZ and the world are flying in to show their love ❤️ - we’re totally humbled by the gratitude.

And it’s all going down in our beautiful home, Aotearoa! Fa’afetai, Fa’afetai, Fa’afetai tele lava! 🙏 Moments like these remind us why we do what we do - it’s all for you, NZ! ❤️✊🏾

🎶 Et incarnatus est 🎶

It’s been a minute since I’ve sung in a cathedral and it has brought me all the way back to my student days and my first professional gig at the Christchurch Cathedral!!

Tonight we are at the Basilique Cathédrale Saint-Denis, performing the Mozart Mass in C Minor tonight with the @festivalsaintdenis + @lecercledelharmonie .

So this wonderful lady @classicalvoicecoaching popped over to NYC for my @metopera debut and we got to work together two days in a row! If you don’t know her already, not only is she unbelievably talented and knowledgeable, she also apparently a wizard that can get you to sing a high F that you didn’t even know you were capable of singing!! 😱

Now I’m not exactly singing queen of the night or anything, but it does feel incredible to work and strengthen the voice across the whole range!

And that’s a wrap on this NYC adventure 🍎

Feeling a bunch of feels right now and not sure how to express them. I had a whole VILLAGE show up for me, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt so overwhelmed by love and support.

My heart is very full, and I’m going to cherish all the memories from this adventure for a very, very long time. ❤️
