“Fashion Revolution week happens every year in the week surrounding the 24th of April.
In 2013 Rana Plaza collapsed and more than 1,100 people – mostly young women – died in the collapse and another 2,500 were injured, making it the fourth largest industrial disaster in history.”

Emerging
Slowly 🐦‍🔥

A slightly slower than usual start to this year. #gonefishing 🎣

Wanted to send out the biggest thank you to each and everyone of you that’s supported us in 2024 - appreciate all of the love and support whilst we feel our way into the future 🫶

Last year taught me that without friends, family + community support the struggle is raw. Juggling a business, with motherhood and trying to make art has been testing..Motherhood is the clearest mirror. I’ve learnt a lot of lessons and the biggest one has been to surrender.

The pace is slower than the vision…

Action no matter how small can make an impact and we’re leaning into that. Hope to do it better this year.

Last year we opened on Saturdays with appointment only for the rest of the week.

This year we plan to be open more days, with some interesting additional things on offer. We will be opening our space up to local designers sellers makers and creators…so more collaboration
more variety and
more services.

Please reach out if you are interested in hosting a workshop or stocking your products. We want to hear from you and see what we can build together as a community.

In the meantime we shall be spending the rest of what’s left of the month resetting & will reopen our doors from end of next week - Sat 25th January

The Create for Palestine Family Arts fundraiser for @gazasunbirds was an inspiring day of creativity and expression, with a strong message of solidarity and protest in support of Palestine. With incredable punchy hand made t-shirt and poster making! Not only was it a fun event, but it also offered a meaningful opportunity for families to get involved in activism through art.

This event came together thanks to the collaboration of @aminasef , @its.georgiestreet , and @thanet4palestine , and was hosted by three amazing local businesses: @wastewillsaveus , @modern_provider , and @whereelsespace .

And the DIY up-cycled protest garments, stenciled and decorated by all!

The day was a great success, bringing the community together through art and raising awareness for Palestine. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed, @meg_gj for leading songs, @c0host70 on the drums, @minxystrange for activities and @amyexton for beautiful mosaics! And for everone that attended, and helped make this event such a powerful statement of solidarity and strength of unity.

3 days to go until Create For Palestine event
at @thecentremargate

3 venues
@whereelsespace - main workshop space for all activities - including DIY Upcycling with @wastewillsaveus & @margatearttherapy and Tile Making with @amyexton
We will also have placard making drumming, singing & more
@modern_provider will host our community feast
@wastewillsaveus - will host the protest quilt activity - details on how to partake below

Protest Quilt
We will be making a community quilt to coincide with Sunday 15th Dec Create for Palestine event - event is 12-2pm, however you can start working on something ahead of the event if you would like to contribute.

The important thing is that your final fabric square measures 5.5”inches x 5.5”inches. This includes 1/2”inch seam allowance all around.

We will be providing fabric squares on the day for anyone that wants to create something at the event. We will have a machinist based from the Waste Will Save Us store on the day sewing the patches together.
