🎥 “Mish Mankoosha” at Cairo International Short Film Festival! (@cairo_shorts )
Directed by our own Amira Salah-Ahmed, the Womena documentary explores the role of hair in society, self-image, and mother-daughter relationships. Exploring how hair plays into control and freedom of choice, the documentary looks at the evolution of the natural hair movement in Egypt and the Arab world. With heartfelt conversations between the director and her mother, the film adds a personal touch, and features Doaa Gawish (@doaa_gawish ), founder of The Hair Addict (@thehairaddictofficial ); Sara Safwat (@sarasafwat_thecurlystudio ), founder of The Curly Studio (@thecurlystudio ); and actress Ingi Abu Zeid (@ingiabouzeidofficial ).
