Dear golf,
Thank you for the many memories, lessons, and lifelong friendships that you have created for me. You were the first sport I learned, and I will always cherish the times on the course I spent with my dad, where he taught his passion to me. Over the years, there have been many highs and lows, and I am grateful for all of them. I am honored to have been apart of the only two state championships in school history and to have golfed alongside some of my closest friends since 7th grade. Golf can test you in many ways, but it also reveals the strength which you are capable of. Dear basketball,
You were my first love. The place I grew, found myself, and made lifelong memories. You have taught me how to fight through adversity and to overcome challenges that I had never faced before. I learned how to become a better person and have a stronger mindset and work ethic. Every test, every win, every loss, and every lesson was all worth it because it shaped me into who I am today. 4 years of highschool basketball flew by, but my passion started long before that. Countless hours, memories, and roadtrips that I will never forget. All the time I put in, all the early mornings, the late nights, showed how much I was willing to give for this sport. I am so appreciative for the coaches that truly believed in me to get me to where I wanted to be. But I want to thank my family for giving me this opportunity and introducing me to this sport, especially to my mom who gave me my first basketball. She always pushed me to be my best and continued to believe in me when no one else did. At the end, I know I gave basketball my all. Closing out this senior season and this important chapter in my life will forever be bittersweet. It didnt end how i wanted it to but I am so grateful that I was able to get as far as I did. dear tennis,
thank you for the past 13 years. it is crazy to think that this all has gone by so fast. all of the tournament days. all of the late nights in the hotel room with my teammates. all of the wins and losses. they have all shaped me into who i am today. the state championships and the times when i came up just short. all of the different experiences in different flights. i am going to miss everything about you, tennis. my first passion and one of the first real challenges i had to face. i wouldn’t trade it for the world. there are so many memories and emotions that are woven in the strings of my racket. tennis will always have a special place in my heart. it has brought so much joy, success, and adversity. feelings that i will never forget. from getting second 2 years in a row, to becoming a state champion. everything was worth it. i give all of my glory and thanks to God for these amazing opportunities i have been blessed with. and thank you to my papa and my mom for introducing me to this sport and teaching me everything i know about tennis. my deepest gratitude for everything. #signingout #tennis #statechampion #allglorytogod✝️ by @amitystrand13
