Oopiri is a 2016 Telugu-language comedy-drama directed by Vamshi Paidipally and starring Nagarjuna, Karthi, and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the French film The Intouchables and follows Vikramaditya, a wealthy man who becomes quadriplegic after an accident, and Seenu, a carefree young man from a poor background who is hired as his caretaker. Although they come from completely different worlds, their relationship gradually develops into a genuine friendship that changes both their lives. Vikram, despite having wealth and luxury, struggles with loneliness and the limitations caused by his disability, while Seenu is searching for direction and stability in his own life. Through their adventures, arguments, humour, and emotional moments, the two help each other understand the value of freedom, friendship, confidence, and happiness. The film beautifully balances comedy with emotional storytelling and focuses more on human connection than on pity, making Oopiri a heartwarming story about how an unexpected friendship can give people a new perspective on life.
