NOT RECOMMENDED…
.
Snagged the unorthodox birdie on Hole 18 - Hidden Meadows to secure a 1039 rated, 8 down, final round. This is my highest rated round yet! It also led to my best event average to date at 1014! Sheeeeesh!

What an awesome event to cap off my career best season! The 21st Annual Lake Superior Open comes at peak fall in the Midwest offering some amazing views and colors up north. This year, Raven was able to join for the fun and camped with us (@derycklawson , @teehyser ) at our favorite spot.
.
My game felt really good and I mostly felt like I could stay calm and execute what I needed to in the moment. With Raven on the bag, I was in my happy place!
.
Round 1 at Backwoods I put myself in great position (T5) after a shaky start, I rallied 7 birdies in a row in the middle stretch of the round and climbed back onto chase card.
.
Round 2 at SMF I put together a good front 9 and then the rain came and slowed down my play. I had 4 birdie attempts that just wouldn’t fall on the back 9, which dropped my position a bit for the event (T9).
.
Round 3 at Hidden Meadows was a dream. I talked through all my shots which helped manifest my highest rated round and absolute best finish at the event so far! I nearly went bogey free and tied the hot round to move into an A-Tier podium finish!!

Previously, I hadn’t even cashed at this event, the courses are THAT demanding. What an incredible feeling to compete at this level and thank you to everyone for their kind words during and after.

RATINGS UPDATE - CAREER HIGH! 984! Let’s gooo!
.
Here’s a funny little story - I played my first ever event in June of 2020 - Springvale Showdown (shout out @djschnabel !!) I played MA1 and shot 983 both rounds, locking that in for my first ever PDGA rating.. understandably, it went down from there as I played more events.
.
After 6 years, I have finally eclipsed that, with a whopping 984 😂😅 - but in reality, the work it takes to move the needle on your rating is pretty challenging, even if rating are “fake” lol

What a finish and what a battle!
.
Did I play hotter than the temps? Maybe not, but even being out in the scorching sun, I DID have the hottest round of the day, shooting -7, out of a 4-way tie for 3rd, into a solo 2nd place finish! Dillon and I went back and forth all day on the chase card, alas, I held it down in the last few holes to pull away and secure my best finish at an A-Tier event (yet)!!
.
Thank you @egreene115012 for walking with me, talking through my shots, taking all the footage and surviving the heat! The support meant so much! @kalenhogan and Shannon did a phenomenal job with the event, making sure the courses were pristine and the event was a blast! If you haven’t been to Iwen Park DGC it’s a must play if you’re in the area. Congrats to Ryan M. on the win - hard to chase down an 8 stroke lead.

I should probably get some much needed rest….. or maybe I’ll play league tonight lol 😅 taken in Fargo, North Dakota by @ammier09

Round 2 was scorching hot… chase card today started at 1:30pm and temps reached around 95° early in the round. The weather didn’t help the golf, but ultimately, with all the hydrating, it didn’t really hurt.
.
Gave away a couple early strokes, earned them back and then some, but found a lull in the middle of the round. An unfortunate and frustrating double bogey lit the fire to a stellar finish of 4 in a row. (Last 3 videos are Hole 18 finish).
.
Moved into T3 for the final round on chase card again, looking to shoot hot! Still happily averaging above my rating and looking to make a charge! Let’s gooo!
