POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

If you're new around here I want to introduce myself! My name is Alexia Martina. I am a photographer based in Arlington, VA and have worked throughout DMV area. I do a little of this on the side as my main love and job is teaching the littles.

I took a little hiatus for the beginning of the school year on the Instagram but I’m back!!

It's been such a pleasure to work with so many different people and share so many moments with others. Here’s a little bit about me and where it all began.

A little to throwback to the fam first moving to the states and our first visit down to Washington, DC with big dreams. A celebration of Filipino American History Month as my story began with my parents deciding to move to this country.

- Did a little undergrad at @udelaware with a bachelors in history
- Moved to Philly for work and found that teaching was for me
- got my masters in math and special education from @johnshopkinsu
- gifted myself this fancy camera as a grad gift that I use to this day for my trip to europe
- taught in my first classroom in DC all the while training for my first marathon @philly_marathon

~ Little hobbies~
- Music whether it's choral or a musical my little Filipino heart has been singing forever
- traveling to new places and capturing bits of the experiences that you wouldn't normally get at home
- Sports whether it's swimming, running and a bit of volleyball I'm indeed a girl on the move taken in Arlington, Virginia by @amn.pov

July has been busy networking and just trying out different styles of photography. So much love and appreciation to every person that has said yes and responded to my dms. Thank you so so much for opening the door and letting me work on my craft. It has been such a joy this past month and I’ve gotten to meet so many people because of it. Here’s to August!! taken in Washington D. C. by @amn.pov

I never thought that I would love going to a conference so much in the way that I did with @fanhs_national @fanhs_dmv ❤️ Celebrating and learning from other Filipino changemakers and historians makes me wonder what else I can do to share my talents with the community. We are indeed “PiNoise” making a difference and documenting our stories in all our communities. I look forward to hopefully seeing you all in Stockton 2028. #fanhs2026 taken in Arlington, Virginia by @amn.pov

I had the pleasure this past weekend of capturing moments with my camera at the @fanhs_national @fanhs_dmv conference here in Arlington, Virginia. I’ve been going through the copious number of photos, excited to see the joy in everyone celebrating our shared identity as Filipino Americans. More photos to come!! taken in Arlington, Virginia by @amn.pov
