What happens when you want to look good, but luxury is out of reach ?

Three siblings were planning an outing and wanted to show up looking sharp . The elder brother talked about expensive fashion and the kind of outfit he had seen online,
But we knew we couldn’t afford that kind of luxury.

For a moment, we didn’t know what to do .

Then Maami reminded us of somthing we had almost forgotten.

“ Arúgbó șe ogè rí, àkísà dè l’ogbà rí .”

( The old ones had their own time of fashion. Even old clothes once had their own value .)

Then she said :

“ we may not have luxury ,but we have a story .”

That story was hidden inside old Ankara fabrics.

I looked at those fabrics differently.
I saw possibilities in them.

So I picked them up, took them to the sewing machine, and turned what looked old into something new .

And that became IGBALODE ATIJO.

À celebration of old roots, new energy ,culture ,creativity and the stories that live in what we sometimes overlook.

From ATIJO to IGBALODE.
Old roots . New energy.

This is more than just an outfit.
It is a reminder that what is old can still become something new, relevant and beautiful.
