The Sun has finally set on what was an immense occasion with nine other bands at Slaughterfest. We are so proud to perform again for the first time since the Pre-Pandemic, the crowd response was more than what we expected. There's been a handful of tribulations leading up to this event, we never thought it would see the light of day again and here we are. To Sean, for putting this all together, the Edmonton scene would be a shadow of itself without his leadership and camaraderie. With the ten bands announced, there were dozens more that applied. The bands he chose were all unique in their own right and that brought quality and diversity to the music scene. It was a privilege to perform at The Stalite Room, and major cheers to Concertworks, all bar tenders, security, and all else behind the scenes to make the night seamless. Thank you all. Oh, and one last thing.. A Modern Prometheus is back. "It is true, we shall be monsters, cut off from all the world; but on that account we shall be more attached to one another". From our last exhibition on June 21st, which also happened to be where Cam first donned the suit. A few days ago, A Modern Prometheus performed at Temple alongside Splayed, Repugnant Scum, Killing Spree, and Santorum. From start to finish, it was a magnificent night. We can't express our gratitude enough to Jade, Sputum Records, ConcertWorks, and The Starlite Room staff for organising and putting on such a special event to close off this week. A massive shoutout to our very own @Blastsquatch who performed in three bands over two days; Age of Ashes on Saturday, Repugnant Scum and us closing off the Sunday, an absolute monstrosity and legend behind the kit, raise a toast for the Blastsquatch. Despite the British weather hammering down for Edmonton for the last two weeks or so, it was a fantastic turnout and we're honoured that we all got to see Cam don the suit and begin this new chapter with A Modern Prometheus, what a debut it was. The crowd was immense, and we can not wait to show more art and nights of song with you again, so for now, thank you to all, and to all, goodnight. This photo was proudly captured by @zukshoots 📸 thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for this scene. 🫀 Carry the flame. by @amodernprometheus

ARTIST SHOWCASE : A MODERN PROMETHEUS Last but not least, our illustrious headliners, coming to close the show and truly bring trauma to The Temple on June 21st, the mighty A Modern Prometheus! A Modern Prometheus are Progressive Blackened Death Metal band hailing from the U̶n̶i̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶K̶i̶n̶g̶d̶o̶m̶, Edmonton, Canada formed in 2017. The band is known for blending the duality of extreme metal with esoteric cleans, Iyrically endulging into the occult, satanism, and melancholy. The bands name is inspired by the subtitle to Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein'. A Modern Prometheus have gained a reputation for their theatrical and elaborate live performances, and are known for not releasing music. A live only experience that welcomes you to their next Exhibition. “I do know that for the sympathy of one living being, I would make peace with all. I have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine and rage the likes of which you would not believe. If I cannot satisfy the one, I will indulge the other…” Mary Shelley Concert Works and Sputum Records present Trauma at the Temple with: A Modern Prometheus, Santorum, Killing Spree, Repugnant Scum, and Splayed!
