T + J and an entire wedding day of absolute GEMS 💎✨

But can we talk about these portraits??? The light! The florals! The dress! The two of them looking immaculate and then immediately being silly together. We love portraits that feel editorial without losing the actual people in them and these two made that v easy.

Every detail of Toko & Jonathan’s wedding felt like stepping into another world, elegant, immersive, intentional, and completely unforgettable. From the fashion to the florals to the guest experience, this day was a true reflection of their vision brought to life by an incredible team of creatives.

As a wedding content creator, I have the privilege of witnessing so many beautiful celebrations, but this one was especially magical. I’m so grateful to have played a small part in preserving these moments and capturing the behind-the-scenes memories they’ll cherish forever.

From childhood best friends in New Jersey to married under the California redwoods, J+J’s intimate weekday UC Botanical Garden wedding at Mather Redwood Grove in Berkeley was 20 years in the making. After meeting when they were 11 years old and finally dating in 2020, they took a leap a faith by moving across the country together last year. Their wedding was a chance for their East Coast loved ones, including J’s beloved grandma whose engagement ring J wears, to celebrate their union and love of the West Coast. Even J’s bouquet was made of all native California wildflowers as a nod to the natural beauty found here. Their mutual childhood best friend officiated while the couple planted a lemon tree during the ceremony. As evening set, their close knit group of friends and family were treated to a delicious meal and festive dance party at the Julia Morgan Hall. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect celebration for these two nature lovers (who also took a moment during our portraits to say “Hi!” to a banana slug making its way along the trail)! 🍋🌲
