2026 Pasadena Showcase House Featured in Modern Luxury Interiors California.

Nine standout rooms are featured in “Past Perfect,” this month’s Modern Luxury Interiors California, with @petermarinoarchitect gracing the cover.

Editor-in-Chief Laura Eckstein Jones explores how the designers reimagined a century-old Arts and Crafts home for the present, finding distinct ways to engage with its history while giving each room a contemporary point of view.

From the Art Deco-inflected Midnight Garden Room by @houseofpontovi and the contemporary take on the Entertainment Room by @studiojoshua.la to the vintage textile-filled Modern Bohemian Bedroom by @ben.nichols.workshop , the Arcadian Sanctuary by @amorphous_studio and @jameshernandezinteriordesign ‘s Minkwood Library, conceived as a playful retreat for the home’s art-and-travel loving resident, rooms brought a distinctly modern sensibility to the historic Baldwin Oaks Estate.

Thank you to @lauraecksteinjones for the beautiful feature in Modern Luxury Interiors California. See link in bio for the full feature.

Every project leaves us with something beyond the finished space.

Designing for the Pasadena Showcase House was an opportunity to explore how architecture, interiors, and craftsmanship come together to create an experience—not just a room. Looking back on the process reminds us that thoughtful design is about balancing history, functionality, and emotion to create spaces that feel timeless.

We've shared a few reflections on what we learned throughout the journey, from concept to completion.

Read the full story through the link in our bio.

What part of a home do you believe has the greatest impact on how a space feels?

Another episode of “Art Questions Answered by Design Pros.”

This time, the artists at @hattasstudios put interior designer Ronnie Gor of @amorphous_studio on the spot with a question many homeowners and designers are asking:

What are the latest trends in art for luxury design?

With a background spanning architecture, building, and interior design, Ronnie brings a uniquely informed perspective to the conversation. Her answer goes beyond what’s fashionable today and dives into what makes art feel relevant, meaningful, and enduring in high-end spaces.

If you’re wondering what to look for when selecting art—or how today’s luxury interiors are incorporating artwork in fresh ways—this is an episode you won’t want to miss.

Because the best art isn’t just about following trends. It’s about finding pieces that create connection, tell a story, and elevate the experience of a space.

Watch now and get inspired by Ronnie’s expert insight, and see the art in her space, the Primary Bedroom at @pasadenashowcasehouse

MALIBU — IN PROGRESS

There is a particular moment in construction when the architecture begins to reveal itself.
Standing on the newly framed roof of our Malibu project, the relationship between the home, its geometry, and the Pacific beyond becomes tangible in a way drawings can only anticipate.

Our role on this project extends beyond a conventional design scope. As Owner’s Representative, Amorphous Studio works at the intersection of design intent and construction—helping the owner navigate decisions, coordinate disciplines, evaluate details, and maintain clarity as the project moves from concept into built form.

It is a role that reflects how we like to work: collaboratively and without rigid boundaries between architecture, interiors, engineering, and construction.

We welcome collaborations with homeowners, architects, interior designers, builders, and development teams who need an experienced design and construction perspective—whether for a complete project or a focused role within a larger team.

The details you don’t immediately see are often the ones that make the difference.

For this kitchen transformation, our client had a clear point of view and selected the tile, countertops, and paint palette. From there, we helped shape the space—developing the cabinetry and architectural details, resolving conditions, coordinating the many elements behind the finished result, and carrying the project through construction.

The goal wasn’t simply to replace finishes. It was to take an existing kitchen and thoughtfully resolve the details so the entire space worked together.

Good design is often quiet. When proportions, transitions, cabinetry, lighting, materials, and construction are carefully considered, the finished space simply feels right.

Almost there.

This project is nearing completion after a full interior remodel and exterior transformation.

It’s been great seeing all the details we worked through come together and completely change the feel of this home.
Looking forward to sharing the finished project soon.

From existing conditions to a new expression.

Demolition is underway on this Los Angeles residence as we begin translating the project vision into its built form.

At this stage, it’s less about what you see — and more about what has to happen behind the walls to build it properly.

One of my favorite parts of construction is the moment when you begin to see the space emerge.

On our Cerritos project, we’re managing the construction and coordinating foundation, wood and steel framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and all the trades that have to come together.

A lot of my job at this stage is questioning things.

Can this be simpler?
Is there a better way to build it?
How does this affect the structure? The cost?
Does it still respect the design?

Construction is not just about executing drawings. Every decision affects something else, and you have to understand those relationships while also managing the team and keeping the client informed.

Having worked across design and construction, I tend to look at the project from all of those angles at once. I think that helps us catch things earlier, make better decisions, and makes the process a little easier for the client.

And after all the coordination and problem solving, it’s still exciting to stand on site and watch a space actually take form.

It's been a month since I lost my mom, and it still doesn't feel real.

I still catch myself reaching for the phone to call her before remembering I can't.

She was beautiful, resilient, artistic, incredibly creative, and had such a refined eye for beauty. She believed in me long before I believed in myself, and I'll always be grateful for the strength and confidence she gave me.

I'll cherish moments like this forever.

Forever grateful to have been your daughter. ❤️ by @amorphous_studio
