I have a lot of ideas I could easily talk myself out of pursuing.
Too risky or too difficult, what if it doesn't work?

But I don't think God put these things in my head for me to bury them in fear.

Either the fear goes away, or the opportunity will. God doesn't fail by @amospops

You can't judge what you haven't made... Or at least well enough

Without making anything, your opinions are mostly theoretical.
Until you make something yourself and then try making it better.

Good taste is less about knowing what is good and more about becoming good at finding out what is good.
Make something, put it out there and see the outcome.
Then overtime make it better.
I believe that's a much more reliable way to develop good judgement. by @amospops

Hmm… you have no idea what you’re getting yourself into.

That picture is kinda funny now. You’re still young enough to think hard work automatically wins. It doesn’t.

You’ll learn that ideas are cheap. Execution is rare.
You’ll learn that being smart doesn’t matter much if you can’t make decisions.
You’ll learn that people will tell you they support you, then disappear when things get difficult.

Don’t take it personally. That’s business.

Being a founder means nobody is coming to save you. There is no perfect time, perfect team, perfect investor, perfect product, or perfect strategy.

You make the decision.
You take the risk.
You live with the consequences.

And yes, you’ll get things wrong. A lot.

You’ll hire the wrong people.
Trust the wrong people.
Build things nobody wants.
Waste money.
Waste time.
Change direction.
Start again.

Well... that’s the tuition.

So build something people actually need.

Keep the team small when it should be small.
Move fast when speed matters.
Say no more often.
Protect your attention.
Don’t confuse meetings with progress.
Don’t confuse followers with customers.
Don’t confuse funding with success.

And one more thing…

Never build a company just to look successful.

Build something useful.

Make it better.
Make it simpler.
Make it harder to ignore.

There will be moments when everyone thinks you’re crazy.

Hmm… maybe they’re right.

But if you’ve done the work, checked the numbers, listened to the customer, and still believe the problem is worth solving... keep going.

Not because you need to prove them wrong.

Because the work still needs to be done.

That kid in the picture doesn’t know any of this yet.

Maybe that’s the advantage.

He hasn’t learned all the reasons why something can’t be done.

So don’t lose that part of yourself.

Building something from the ground up changes you.

You learn that vision isn’t enough, it’s endurance that tests what you truly believe in. You relaunch, you rebuild, you rethink, and sometimes you have to stand still just to listen to what the dream is trying to become.

@venueriafrica has been that kind of journey for me, two years of building, breaking, learning, and believing all over again. Through every season, one thing stayed constant: the people who gave their hearts, their creativity, and their belief when it mattered most.

I don’t know what comes next yet, but I know this: we built something real. And for that, I’ll always be grateful. Venueri by @amospops
