I grew up with Jordan telling me I could fly, but @stephencurry30 leads his brand with “I can do all things”. I’ve admired his game for years, but even more than that, I’ve looked up to his positive influence on this generation and culture. His love for his kids and his wife. To say working with him and this project is one for the books is an understatement.

Growing up and being a massive Basketball/ Jordan fan I always dreamed of playing in the league. Realizing quickly at 6’3” and with an average (at best) jump shot, that wasn’t going to happen. But I always wanted to stay connected to the league and find a way to work with Players.

It’s funny how God works and the doors that open. 4 years of meeting, working alongside and becoming friends with people who ultimately led to today. God you are good.

Excited for the future and the ideas that were shared in that room. Thank you to @davidmichaelbond for the opportunity to share my ideas and vision to Steph and the @underarmour team.

Also, been a massive fan of @bryantbarr for years. Grateful for the opportunity to officially meet and snag a quick minute. 19 years ago today this girl agreed to be my girlfriend.

Which is surprising because a few months prior to that she asked me to a “Ladies Pay All” school dance, and I said “NO!”.

In my defense, I was a 16 year old punk who was putting on a concert for some local bands that same night and trying to start a business…

Regardless, a few months later I met her dad, ax in hand, out by the wood pile to ask him if I could take her to dinner.

Since then we’ve been inseparable high school sweethearts! by @amowens23

There’s a strange part of being a dad where you realize you can’t protect your kids from every hard thing anymore. You can still guide them. Push them. Encourage them. Remind them who they are when they forget. But eventually, some things they have to fight through themselves.

Sawyer went from crushing records in junior high to expecting a big launch into high school. Instead, he got a setback. And as hard as it has been to watch, I’m beginning to believe it was a blessing. Because I’ve watched him work when there was no crowd. No finish line. No medal. No instant reward.

Just recovery. Repetition. Frustration. Patience. And more work.

Romans 8:18 speaks about the pain of this present season isn’t worth comparing to the joy that’s coming.

And we aren’t there yet.

Even today, he’s frustrated with his times. He knows how far he still has to go. He wants to be back on top now. But watching him today reminded me to stop looking so far ahead.

Because there’s something worth taking in right here.

I’m watching my son fight every single day for something that matters to him. I’m watching a young man learn that wanting something and earning your way back to it are two very different things.

And I’m learning that my role as his dad is changing too.

I’m not here to remove every obstacle anymore. I’m here beside him, helping him see further when he can’t, pushing when he needs pushed, and making sure he knows he never has to carry it alone.

There will be another finish line.

There will be faster times.

I just don’t want to miss this version of him waiting for that one.

Because someday we’ll look back at this season and realize getting back on top wasn’t the best thing that came from it.

Today we got to celebrate the life and an incredible woman. Surrounded by family and friends, we were able to share some of our favorite memories and all the ways she impacted our lives.

At almost 96 years of life, Grandma Maudie leaves behind a lot of stories, a lot of laughs and a whole lot of people blessed along the way. Grandma loved her family, loved Jesus, and was never shy about either one.

I’m incredibly grateful for the years we had with her, and especially grateful that my boys got to know her, spend time with her and experience the kind of person she was.

What a life. What a legacy. What a testament to a life well lived. We will miss you but know that for you to live was for Christ, but to be with him for eternity was truly the gain. (Philippians 1:21) by @amowens23

Dang what a year.

It stretched me and challenged me in ways I didn’t see coming. It reminded me how much I need His grace, strength, and hand over my life.

Funny that today the @youversion Verse of the Day is
Isaiah 12:2… “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”

As I reflect on the hardest year I’ve faced in my adult life, I’m encouraged by this simple but powerful truth: “The Lord… the Lord Himself”… nothing else will do.

In the midst of the darkness, He was reminding me of a lot incredible things in my life and why I keep getting back up after every hit. I am blessed by Kailey. For her love, her strength, her patience, and the way she has stood beside me through every season.

I am incredibly proud and grateful for my boys. I pray they remember a dad who kept showing up, kept praying, kept loving, and kept getting back up.

I am reminded of the specific people God has put in my life and continues to put in front of me. They’ve stood with me, prayed with me, and reminded me that this life is worth fighting for.

Today I embark on my 36th trip around the sun and as I do, I put my head back down and know that failures, setbacks, and hardship isn’t the end of the story when God is still writing it.

This is just the beginning.
