🧠🎸 Mental Health Tips for Creatives

The creative life can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also come with pressure, comparison, burnout, and self-doubt. 💜

We know that mental health matters — and that the people who create, inspire, and bring us together deserve support, too.

Here are 4 reminders for protecting your mental health as a creative:

🎨 Separate creating from judging. Give yourself permission to create without expecting perfection.

📱 Limit comparison triggers. Your journey is your own. Protect your focus and create for yourself, not for the algorithm.

🫶 Recognize burnout early. Losing excitement, constantly restarting projects, or feeling guilty when you're not creating may be signs it's time to pause and check in with yourself.

💜 Your work is not your worth. You are more than your latest song, project, performance, or achievement.

Your mental health matters just as much as your creative work. You don't have to wait until you're struggling to prioritize yourself or ask for support.

✨ Save this post for a reminder when you need it, and share it with a creative who could use some encouragement.

Mental health matters every day. 💚

Sometimes the signs that we need a break are easy to overlook—feeling constantly drained, overwhelmed, irritable, disconnected, or struggling to sleep.

If you’re experiencing some of these signs, it may be time to slow down, check in with yourself, and give yourself permission to rest. You don’t have to wait until you’re completely burned out to take care of your mental health.
We are here to help- all of our services are FREE.

Your well-being matters. It’s okay to take a break.

Louder Than Stigma held its second annual fest at the Kessler Theater, filling the venue with art, music, and a whole lot of heart. Put on by Amplified Minds, the event raises money for free mental health support services for Texas adults, using art and music as the vehicle for breaking down the stigma around getting help.

The night opened outside on the green, where Courtney Hart took the first turn on piano and vocals, bringing an easy, soulful warmth to the acoustic set. Tom Sless followed, cranking out pure emotion with nothing but a voice and a guitar. Both are part of the Dallas Busker program, but their reach goes well beyond street corners, as familiar names on stages across the city.

Inside, the Cayuga All Stars kicked the music off, laying down a cumbia beat that put the whole room in motion. From there came a live and silent auction, with wearable art pieces created by Dallas artists including Flint's World, Dtox Art, Izk Davies, Art Design by Dekks, Christi Meril Art, Jennifer Monet Cowley, Art by Lewchuk, Hatziel, Cholita Unikorn Art, Jack Daw Folk Art, Stem and Thorn, and Albarez, each piece transforming clothing into a one of a kind bid.
The night closed out with Oak Cliff's own Tye Harris, overflowing with personality. Harris built his name as a total independent artist, trading in a stage name from his high school days for his given one and turning a background in opera into something no one else in Dallas hip hop is doing, folding trained vocals and piano into raw, unfiltered rap. For him, headlining a night built around mental health wasn't just a booking. It was personal, a chance to turn his own story into something that could help someone else carry theirs.
By the end of the night, every bid placed, every ticket sold, and every dollar dropped in a jar added up to something bigger than a concert. It funded real, tangible support, free therapy sessions, art and music programs, and a lifeline for Texans who might not otherwise have access to mental health care. Louder Than Stigma proved once again that a room full of art and music can do more than entertain. It can genuinely change lives.

🎨 FEATURED ARTIST: DTOX

We’re excited to feature DTOX, at this year’s Louder Than Stigma Fest!

A multifaceted, self-taught artist raised in Dallas, Texas by way of Grand Rapids, Michigan, DTOX comes from a long line of visual artists and has developed a distinctive style that is bold, vibrant, ornate, and nearly impossible to categorize.

Heavily influenced by nature, technology, and unconventional beauty he moves effortlessly across mediums and artistic styles. His work includes thought-provoking paintings, larger-than-life colorful murals, intricate collage, surreal body painting, up-cycled artistic fashion, live scribing, and performance painting. His unique ability to combine technology-driven themes with old-world grace creates work that is both visually striking and deeply engaging.

He has worked with an incredible roster of artists, brands, and organizations, including Jean Paul Gaultier, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Mavericks, Erykah Badu, Randy Jackson, American Airlines, DreamWorks Studios, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Modelo Especial, USO, George Bush Presidential Library, and more.

For Louder Than Stigma Fest, DTOX brings that creative vision to wearable art with a one-of-a-kind piece created for our Wearable Art Auction:
