Natural nail & air dry polish
Quest to declutter my nail photo library

PHOTO DUMP. Some pre-stamp look of @fancygloss - Black Thermal Top Coat. No base coat here so you can 100% see nail line. Picture here are already topped with a glossy QDTC, or it will otherwise have a semi matte finish. Also really unfortunate timings for picture as I was watching Candyman in the background. πŸ˜… If I do two coats of @kbshimmer Feelin Groovy, I think it would make for a nice look with grungy vibe as it have a neutral color to blur out the nail line. by @amsidecrafts
Happy Halloween!!! πŸŽƒ Did an early Halloween themed mani while testing whether my thermal survived a year in my dresser. I wanted to add some red stamped splatter but decided to keep it a bit more lowkey. Also, a rare outdoor photo moment. 🫣 Also trying out thermal transition videos for fun in pictures 6 & 7 (uh oh). Wearing: πŸ’‹ @fancygloss - Black Thermal Top Coat (3x coats) NO base coat was used here to test opacity. I did top it with a glossy QDTC (@cuticulanailcare - Limitless Top Coat), as usual. I stamped with some miscellaneous stamping plates bought in China and used @whatsupnails - Neither Noir on the 2nd day. β€”β€”β€” Don't fret if you see a yellowish color around the tips of my nails. That's just my staining, but I think it adds to the look. πŸ‘» I can still see my lunulae and staining through the base, so it definitely still lives up to its topper name, even after a year since I purchased it in early September 2025. Worn as a regular polish, it definitely requires 3 solid coats on my nails to achieve a true black, but two coats usually suffice for me when used as a topper over colored polish to achieve a darker look. I think this polish has a lot of potential for jelly sandwiches and even as a regular polish, depending on personal style. β€”β€”β€” Pictures taken in natural light. #indienails #indienailpolish by @amsidecrafts
I was on the hunt for a nice maroon-red polish with an ultra-fine magnetic shimmer, and @polished.calico totally influenced me to try out @aurabloompolish. 🫣 This has a blackened base with subtle holo shimmer and an ultra-fine red magnetic shimmer that looks orange from indirect angles. In lower lighting, it looks more maroon due to the base color. Tried topping it with @lacolorscosmetics black crackle polish before taking it off, and really enjoyed that as well. Wearing: πŸ’« @aurabloompolish - Bloodlines (3x coats) Worn over a blurring base and then topped with a glossy QDTC. Left hand was done using the velvet method. Right hand was done using the bead method WITHOUT a base coat for a more dispersed effect. Crackle was added on the 3rd day and then retopped with a glossy QDTC. β€”β€”β€” I can definitely get away with 2 coats for velvet, but ended up doing 3 coats anyway for the sake of my memory. I think I messed up with the bead magnetizing somewhere, as there seems to be some patchiness toward the top of the nails. β€”β€”β€” Pictures taken in natural and artificial light. Accidentally took a bunch of videos in HDR so video are a touch washed out on IG. 🫠 #indienails #indienailpolish Got distracted while knitting. 🀣 Look darker and more brown in the shadow vs in direct light. Left hand with velvet style. Slightly washed out bc of camera setting 😭. But it's still very nice. Right hand with bead method. Left hand with velvet magnetization. A bit brighter sunlight here and angled to show all the red. Bead on right hand. Super bright in direct sun. My bead was weirdly patchy on index somehow? And thumb, may need to do some repositioning from my end. The thumb in question. 😭 It still looks great in this angle, just user error. A bit closer. Around sunset time. On the yarn. Trying not being distracted by that patchiness 🀣 Left is more subdue since it's away from sunlight, and you can see it look dark red/ browner here. Tom paw cameo. More angle. And thumb. Nighttime with lamp, it's so fiery 😍 This is technically the day it was painted so cleaning isn't done yet. More angle. Added the crackle! Wish I snag a picture in motion. by @amsidecrafts
Wanted to reuse @nbnothingbasic Name! in a separate mani after recently trying it as a topper over a magnetic polish. This was the perfect opportunity to use my untried jelly polish while trying out a jelly sandwich technique, killing two birds with one stone. Look at how the flakies show through! Def one of my favorite darker jellies. Also really validating to see how versatile the topper is. 😏 Wearing: ✨ @cirquecolors - Midnight Jelly (3x coats) πŸ’« @nbnothingbasic - Name! (1x coat) Worn over a blurring base, then topped with Seche Vite in an attempt to speed up the dry time. In between the base and top coat, two layers of jelly were applied, followed by one coat of topper and then a final layer of jelly. β€”β€”β€” Pictures taken in indirect natural light. Feel like the orange issue has somehow been resolved. #indiepolish #indienailpolishes Been taking more pictures around sunset time. Another angle. Another video showing the shimmer. Thumb. Right hand def get slightly better light. Close up. Thumb again. Less sun here so look slightly cooler tone. Same here. Some behind the scene. This was before applying the final layer of jelly. Honeslty, very minimal difference beside texture, maybe amping up the blue, and the look of encapsulated flakies. It make the base look slightly more teal leaning although you cannot tell from the picture. The coloring due to the nature of blue shimmer/flakies. Less sun here. More behind the scene. Two coat of jelly! It self level so well with the wider brush compared to my old cirque bottle. Also, you can see it's more of a navy blue than a brighter blue compared to previous pictures. by @amsidecrafts
Trying out some Dollar Tree polish that was totally not planned at all while scavenging for some glow-in-the-dark L.A. Colors. For less than $2, I’m more than happy to pick one (or two) up. 🀭 Picked up a silver and a soft blue shimmer polish, as I was immediately taken by the holo that was completely unadvertised on the bottle labels. The silver ended up being a solid 2-coater for me, but I can definitely make it work with 1 coat. The only issue is some streakiness, which means a more careful application is needed. This is less sparkly than my Zoya Trixie, so I’m happy to have a 1-coat option in my collection. It’s actually quite reflective too for a non-chrome powder option. The soft blue β€œiridescent shimmer” polish was a total accidental buy, even for me, considering light or pastel colors are not my usual M.O. I’m blaming it on the scattered holo because it’s so pretty in the bottle. This was a 2-coater, but I did wear a blurring base coat underneath, which boosted the coverage here. Check out that holo in the last imageβ€”I fear I did not do it justice. They both have the same medium-thin polish brush found in the Sally Hansen Xtreme line, so that’s one of the few downsides (based on my preference). But I really can’t complain for that price. Wearing: Left: ✨ Marie Claire - Silver (2 coats) Right: πŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€οΈ Marie Claire - Dewdrops (2 coats) β€”β€”β€” Pictures taken in natural and artificial light. #nailpolish #dollartree #dollartreefind by @amsidecrafts
Back to using my untried polishes! This is a muted, medium-toned green base with hints of blue and ultra fine pink-to-gold shifting magnetic particles. It’s like there are fireflies on my nails. πŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€οΈ Wanted to get back into doing more beads after seeing everyone’s beautiful manis here, so I’ll be testing out the base coat method I’ve seen floating around here and on Reddit to create a tighter bead. The first video is day 3 (two days after the mani). Wearing: ✨ @arclightivy - Hollow Hill (3x coats) Worn over a blurring base and topped with a glossy QDTC. The first two layers are demagnetized, with the final coat magnetized using @glassbeadpro. @kbshimmer Basic Training Base Coat was used here before finally topping everything off with QDTC after ~15 min. β€”β€”β€” Polish: I build up this polish up to 3 coats to deepens the base, but I can see it working with 2 coats for shorter nails when looking at coverage after 2 coats of demag. Glass Bead: Overall, I do feel like it works, even though there is still some dispersal, which is expected. I may need to retry this again to see if the polish formula affects the result, as well as fix some of the streakiness by applying a heavier layer (this part is user error). Also working on centering my nails. β€”β€”β€” Pictures taken in natural light. #indienails #indienailpolish Also day 3. Depending on the angle I feel like the bead look a bit tighter, which was the case here. First day mani was done. Hyped here lol Day 3, it was very hard to take a straight picture while ligning up the bead. 😭 You can really see the muted base color here though, which I also really enjoy. Day 3. Trying to capture static picture of the bead. Look more golden on pointer & middle, whereas ring and pinky is more pink. Day 2. It's fall, so here is a shot with the cuff of a sweater. Thee bead is larger here compared to day 3, mostly just because of the angle. Day 3. This awkward angle is just because my bead was misplaced, the thumb is so tricky. πŸ˜‚ Day 2. You can see more pink here which is usually the case when looking head on. Day 2. You can see the actual dispersal straight ahead. Still really nice bead compared to no base coat by @amsidecrafts
A breather mani from all the thermals. πŸ˜‚ This was another polish I've rediscover from the recent skittle mani a few post back. It's basically a brown ILNP Eclipse - with black to red shifting shimmer on a dark brown-red base. You can really see how dark it is with my hand on my navy project. It's also so perfect for fall as well. Bonus is it is quite opaque in 2 coat, while being more generous on the 2nd coat for good measure. No clue why I'm getting bubbling on a non magnetic on my right middle finger, maybe I need a new top coat instead of refilling my current one LOL Wearing: πŸ«† @crackedpolish - situationship (2x coats) Worn over a blurring base and a glossy QDTC. β€”β€”β€” Pictures taken in natural light. #indienails #indienailpolish by @amsidecrafts
Going for Hoa Hoa Hoa season with this thermal AND magnetic polish in one. After wearing this as a skittle a few mani back, I realize I'm not using it to fill potential - this may be one of my top thermal polish now. Taking a bunch of video because the holo is insane especially during golden hour, I feel like I'm part of the Cullen family. πŸ˜‚ Wearing: πŸ’« @fancygloss - Midnight Thunder (3x coats) Worn over a blurring base and a glossy QDTC. Polish is magnetized with @glassbeadpro. Topped with @holotaco - Linear Holo Topper on the 2nd day with an additional coat of QDTC. β€”β€”β€” Picture in natural and artificial light. I think it's finally less crazy warm now?? #indienails #indienailpolish Wanted to get a snap while they're in different stage! White/grey is warm state and black when cold. So hard to capture bead in static picture for this polish. A lot of incoming video. And yes my right hand is still here and kicking after the chop on my middle finger lol Look at that! This is when it was topped with Holo. Warm state + holo here, it's very dainty. Getting colder here so mid thermal transition here with holo AND golden hour light. Static picture. Look at that linear holo 🀩 This is before linear holo. But even with linear, it did not change the base too much considering this polish is already relatively dark and grey. Another angle Thumb Ok the bead is making an appearance Bead making an appearance on pinky and ring πŸ˜‚ Bead on thumb. Before linear holo and in artificial light. Honeslty look just as good as is. Another shot. Static picture. Thanks for viewing all the picture for anyone making it this far πŸ˜‚ by @amsidecrafts
Been waiting for months for Mooncat to update their rewards so I can use up my last bit of points, and I don't want to add another cream to my 100+ collection. πŸ˜‚ This is a light sage green polish that transitions into a dark green-grey color when in its cold state. I was catching random sparkles in it and honestly thought they were from my contaminated top coat before realizing this polish also has the tiniest sneeze of scattered holo. See the third-to-last picture of me trying to capture it on camera. It's super subtle. I've also added crackle to my right hand at the very end just to see how it looks, and I'm really digging the zombie-like effect. (Last two pictures.) Wearing: πŸŒ™ @mooncat - Sagebrush (1x coat) Worn over a blurring base and then a glossy QDTC. Also, did I mention this was only ONE coat?! I need more of this type of polish for lazy days lol. β€”β€”β€” Pictures taken in natural light. No clue what's going on with it being much warmer lately. #indienails #indienailpolish by @amsidecrafts
Wearing more thermal as we enter peak thermal season. Also perfect for this hot and cold weather on the East Coast, just hoping the snowstorm isn't coming too soon in the following weeks. 🀧 Pulling out one of my few tri-thermal polishes in my collection. Honestly I think I like tri-thermal a bit more, as it does show more color, but regular thermal is still my jam as well. I was a bit concerned the bottle looked a bit lighter since I own it for about a year now, but the dark stage still shows through thankfully. Wearing: πŸ’« @fancygloss - Witching Dusk (3x coats) Worn over a blurring base and then topped with a glossy QDTC. β€”β€”β€” Pictures taken in both natural and artificial light. #indienails #indienailpolish by @amsidecrafts
Trying reel format. πŸ˜… On a nail polish stump after some busy days at work and pull out this one coater suggested by @shortnailsbigcity which match the autumnal vibe and my laziness lol. Love that it's a one coater but took a bit of effort to paint properly as there is only one attempt. Wearing: πŸŒ™@mooncat - Dark Horse (1x coat) Worn over a blurring base coat and a glossy QDTC. #indienails #indienailpolish by @amsidecrafts
Finally getting to rewear one of my favorite purple polish, and it's the few polish I have a backup of despite it being a thermal. It's so perfectly vampy too for the season. This is a clear to black polish packed with so much purple shimmer it's basically a purple polish in my book lol. I can definitely tell the base get slightly darker, or more opaque in this case, since it been over a year and the bottle only have a third left. May try stamping over this next time which I've done previously. β€”β€”β€” Wearing: πŸ’« @fancygloss - Amethyst (3x coats) Worn over a blurring base coat and a glossy QDTC as it dry a bit flat. Honestly two coat is usually my preference for a semi sheer warm state but I upper coverage in consideratin of my staining. β€”β€”β€” Pictures taken in natural light but coloring a bit warmer in some pic as they are taken over multiple days. #indienails #indienailpolish by @amsidecrafts
