So excited to share MANUHIRI with you friends and whānau!! We have two work in progress shows in October and we’d love you to be there.

🖤❤️🤍

In te reo Māori, manuhiri means visitor or guest…

In the darkness, something stirs.

Manu belongs to the forest. Em dreams of the ocean. When their worlds collide, fragments of a shared past begin to surface, opening the door to forgotten stories, strange worlds, and a land that has memories of its own.

Myth and memory collide in this contemporary epic poem inspired by Māori oral storytelling traditions, spoken word and pūrakau (mythology).

FANUA: Voices of Our Islands
A collection of poems by Indigenous storytellers

Fanua: Voices of Our Islands is a collection of poems that was written for and by the descendants of Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa. This book is an ode to the earth that connects us, and our shared migrations. It is a living artefact of our collective memory; a root that digs into ancestral ways of knowing, dreaming, and navigating.

🚨INTRODUCING: TEAM CHAIR WOMAN!🪑🚀

AMY COTTER - KATE DARNING & OTHERS 🪡🧵🛋️

Amy is a British, Māori New Zealand actor and poet trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Recent credits include TV drama ‘Shortland Street’, ‘Oleanna’ by David Mamet’ and ‘The Fool of Lear’. Amy is beyond thrilled to be making her Defectors debut playing everything from your average Southern Belle to your eccentric German scientist in this totally conventional, run-of-the-mill production of Chair Woman. Strap in folks. 🇳🇿👩‍🔬

⚠️Amy’s favourite conspiracy theory: Did you know that Antarctica is actually an ice wall around our flat earth beyond which there is a second world that only the elite have access to? But never fear because the elite were recently discovered to be terrible people and they have in fact self-quarantined, so our world is a little bit better now. Phew. 🌍🧊

Catch Chair Woman at @breadandrosestheatre on 14th Sept at 21:00 (WIP), then 17th-18th Oct at 17:30 with @lambethfringe 👀🤘

Tickets via link in our bio! 🎟️
