10 snaps from Mallorca 🌊 To follow on from this morning’s list of things that make your heart sing (over on stories if you missed it) I’d like to add some holiday specials, starting with cracking open your first Coke of the holiday and the ‘cshhhh’ noise it makes, sitting on the balcony post-shower with Lays in one hand and a G&T in the other, lying on the beach with your eyes closed listening to the waves coming in and out, the smell of sun tan lotion, when shuffle pulls together a perfect playlist and you can pretend you’re in a beach themed movie as you sunbathe (only me?), balmy evenings with no jackets needed, postcard writing with an April spritz, hot sand under your feet, the blast of air that hits you as you step off the plane, the FOOD, new sights, smell and sounds, and having nothing more to do all day than read your book and have an ice cream. …let the safari begin! I wasn’t expecting to see too much on day 1 (keep expectations low to avoid disappointment and all that) but oh my GOD were we lucky. From getting stuck in giraffe traffic - arguably the best kind of traffic to get stuck in - to staring competitions with hippos and hot chocolates in the middle of a reserve to seeing LIONS? What an absolute dream come true. Also, sidenote, in the downtime between safaris I finally started reading The Correspondent and I think I might just have found one of my favourite books of the year. A total bucketlist day all round! @clubmedsouthafrica @clubmed @vikelasafarilodge
