It’s my amazing Mom’s birthday today. When I asked her a couple weeks ago if she knew how old she was going to be. She looked at me and said “Fifty?” Well… close.

To know my mom is truly to love her! She is always ready for a good treat or to help someone in need or even if they are not in need. Her love language is to serve and lift another. My mom has been unwavering in her love of the gospel. She finds peace in Christ and by following His will. Family is her greatest joy!

Words cannot express how much I love her! I celebrate her every day and all that she has taught me. My life has been greatly blessed because of her ❤️ by @amybrindley

Happy 26th birthday to the girl that started it all! From the beginning, Kamryn’s strong will and energy has kept her moving down a path that has made us look good as parents and allowed her to achieve her goals. She knows what she wants and goes after it. Kamryn is a loyal friend and still keeps in contact with her besties from her younger years. She is compassionate with a heart of gold. Her little cousins all love her (and Orion) and she loves them all right back! Her brothers call her for advice and she tells me when it’s time to finally update the decor. She is stylish and beautiful without being over the top or self centered. I love having a daughter that will call me with good news or any news at all. Kamryn brings color and life to our family and I couldn’t be more happy to be her mom! by @amybrindley

We celebrated Mason today as he turned 20 yrs old! I’ve loved having him as my youngest and time spent with him is time well spent. He will come with me to get beverages at the HO, go paddle boarding with me, volunteer, and leave me gasping for breath as I try to keep up with him on the mountain. His passion and talent for music is next level and I’m so lucky to be able to see and hear him play so often. Those who know Mason best know of his kind heart and love for everyone around him. I think he gets this from his Nana. Rarely does a negative word about anyone leave his lips. In fact today, he gave me some great perspective about about a situation that really flipped the narrative. I’m so grateful for him and the way he has blessed our family for the last 2 decades! Love ya Mase! by @amybrindley

Yup! It’s this guy’s birthday. Happy Birthday, Carter! I’m so lucky to be his Mom and witness the pure goodness that he is for the past 23 years. Whether he is playing catch with the 2nd grader down the street, helping his grandpa in the yard or busting his butt knocking doors selling pest control, Carter does everything with intention and concern. You can’t help but love him! Help me wish him a happy birthday today by sending him a quick message. He deserves all the love! by @amybrindley

Mason and the wonderful Mike Hicks played a beautiful rendition of A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief yesterday in church. I don’t even have a word to describe how much I loved it. Thanks for blessing my heart and soul! taken in East Millcreek by @amybrindley

I love yoga.

I went to a class that I normally don’t go to and at the end while laying in savasana, a song came on that brought back a flood of memories and I found myself fighting back tears.

Almost 14 years ago, Benn and I moved our family from our wonderful neighborhood in Las Vegas where we had close friends and a very supportive,
loving community. The circumstances of our move weren’t ideal but we had to go. I remember waking up the final morning before starting our 6 hour drive north to salt lake and the song ‘Let it Be’ came on. I cried calming tears and felt a reassurance that all would work out somehow in someway.

Fast forward to 2 days ago when I read a post from our Prophet, Russel M Nelson, about how his 100th birthday is approaching. He talked about the parable of the Lost Sheep and encouraged all to find the 1. Here are his words:

“Over the coming months I invite you to consider prayerfully: who do you know who may be discouraged? Who might you need to reconcile with or ask for forgiveness? Has one name been on your mind lately, though you haven’t quite known why? As you bring these questions to the Lord, He will inspire you to know how you can reach out and lift one who needs help.”

As I thought of who I could reach out to, it came to me this morning with this song to share my feelings here. I don’t post often about spiritual things generally so please be kind.

With my experience 14 years ago and stepping into the unknown if you will, I encourage you to prayerfully keep moving forward even if the road ahead is not clear and may frighten you or is not the direction you thought you should go, take that step with faith believing things will work out somehow in someway.

One of my wonderful children asked me once how I knew when I was younger which direction I should take in life without worrying it might be the wrong way. My answer was prayer. And I’ll also add to trust in God. I think the two go hand in hand. It seems simple but it’s so complex at the same time.

I’ll end my TED talk now saying I’m not an expert by any means. These are just my feelings. Hopefully my words might help someone somewhere today. ❤️
