Feeling fabulous is all I can say about my new headshots!! Many of you may have noticed that during 2025, I went on a weight loss journey that culminated in me losing four and a half stone…needless to say, my headshots no longer reflected the “new look”! So, it was back to the GENIUS that is @fayethomasphoto who managed to capture these four utterly unique looks. I feel like a new woman!! Thank you so much Faye for your talent and craftsmanship. You are a true artist. And also, thank you to my all round cheerleader 📣, tireless supporter and utterly brilliant agent @1artistsagency 🌟 #1artistsagency #actress #theatre #film #tv by @amybrownactor
So, this happened last night! I made my official #nationaltheatre debut 🤩 when I was called to cover for Siobhán McSweeney (who was unfortunately taken ill - I send my love to her💕). It was everything I imagined it would be and more. I was literally sobbing 😭 at Justine Mitchell’s tour de force performance; literally having the time of my life dancing around the Mundy kitchen and virtually pinching myself when I found myself at the curtain call, surrounded by the love and talent of such an incredible company, on that set, under those lights on the OLIVIER STAGE!! I love you #dancingatlughnasa - there is still a week left to catch it! I urge you to get a ticket whilst you can! 🤩💃💃💃💃💃💃 #amybrownactor #theatre #londontheatre by @amybrownactor

Hello!! 👋🏻 I’m going to be directing a piece, and then appearing in another piece of wonderful new writing!! If you happen to be in Bedford (UK) and want some wonderful entertainment this Sunday, why not come along!? I’d love to see you! Link is in the bio! #newwriting #directing #acting #theatre #fun by @amybrownactor
Oh, what a night!! 🤩 It was such an honour to share not only my writing, but my love for my dear friend Elke Pollard, in “The Northampton Muse”, a scene I wrote about Elke’s deep connection with her mentor Henry Bird, her teacher at Northampton School of Art, who became a dear friend - and she, his muse. She posed for several of his works, including the magnificent mural at @royalderngate, which was fittingly my backdrop last night. ✨💫✨ I hope I did her proud. I can almost hear her saying, “Yessss darling, bloody yessss!” ☺️❤️ Having her son Bill, and dear friends Cathi and Kevin, in the audience made it even more special. Thank you so much for being there. 🤗 And then there was “Pins and Needles” , another scene what I wrote with my gorgeous and talented pal @gemmaboaden, again performed as part of the @wdhtbl takeover that included ten brand new pieces of writing. It was a promenade performance, that had the Royal & Derngate as its theme and each piece reflected the space it was performed in! In “Pins and Needles” I got to play a battleaxe of a costume designer who perhaps had something to learn…but wasn’t particularly open to it! 😂 Such fun! 🤩 Huge thanks to @carolinenashryden and @mcgarrydan for creating Writing Doesn’t Have To Be Lonely. What you’ve built is very special, and I’m so grateful to be part of it. 🫶And well done to everyone — and I hope the heads aren’t hurting too much this morning! 😝🥂 #writing #writingdoesnthavetobelonely #newwriting #theatre #art by @amybrownactor
What better way to spend a rainy Bank Holiday weekend than pulling on my one-of-a-kind @wdhtbl Writing Doesn’t Have To Be Lonely hoodie (which I won!), opening the laptop and putting the finishing touches to something rather special… As part of the Genfest Writing Doesn’t Have To Be Lonely takeover at @royalderngate on Sunday 20th September, @mcgarrydan and @carolinenashryden have commissioned various Writers to create short scenes inspired by different spaces within the theatre. I’ve been given the Royal Theatre itself …and could think of no more fitting subject than the muse of Northampton herself: my dear late friend, Elke Pollard. Elke was the muse of artist Henry Bird, who created the extraordinary mural on the safety iron in the Royal. It always takes my breath away but also makes me teary, as Elke is forever immortalised within it. Elke was my landlady when I made my professional debut at the Royal in “Summer Lightning” (directed by Rupert Goold). Somewhere along the way, my landlady became my friend - and one of those rare people who remain part of you forever. ⚡️💫⚡️ A dazzling portrait artist, passionate champion of creativity, Northampton celebrity and collector of “wonderful friends” (many of whom she would enthusiastically declare FAMOUS!), Elke believed fiercely in artists and had an extraordinary gift for making people feel that they mattered. 😊 I have no doubt she would be delighted that I’m writing this scene - I can almost hear her voice “Fabulous Darling!” 🤩 And, as if on cue, a full-blown summer storm has just erupted overhead. ⛈️ Some muses, it seems, know exactly when to make an entrance!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️#newwriting #northampton #elkepollard #writingdoesnthavetobelonely #genfest2026 by @amybrownactor
My latest creation! Part collage- of old scripts -part description of the energy I feel when I’m in that creative zone. Entitled ‘Stairway to heaven’. Aw it’s good therapy for the soul to get your hands covered in paint. #artwork #creativehappylife #creativezone #colourful #artistswayoflife by @amybrownactor
What a lovely evening (albeit hot) we had last night @royalderngate for @wdhtbl 🥰 I am always spoilt with the range of characters I get to play and this month was no exception…an overexcited mum welcoming her prodigal son home from prison; an 84 year old former racing car driver and an 11 year old boy on a pirate adventure! And the real treat is to do it with all of these amazing people. To have a group of fellow creatives to play with every month is truly life affirming! Thank you @mcgarrydan and @carolinenashryden 🙌🏻😊🎉🌟🎭 #writing #newwriting #writingdoesnthavetobelonely #frompagetostage 👍😍🙏🏻💃☀️ by @amybrownactor
Can I just say how much I LOVE the theatre! (And no, that wasn't a question.) And THIS 👆 PRIDE by Stephen Beresford is the VERY BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST OF THEATRE. Now for my controversial opinion (which isn't controversial to me): I genuinely think @stephen_beresford is our greatest living playwright. So when you combine my favourite playwright with my favourite art form, you get what I witnessed last night at the press night of PRIDE at the National Theatre... Quite simply, it is THE BEST BLOODY THING I HAVE SEEN AT THE THEATRE IN...WELL, FOREVER! 😍 Beg, borrow or steal a ticket. (Maybe don't actually steal one.) It is OUTSTANDING. It deserves an immediate West End transfer and a run for YEARS AND YEARS. And yes... I know my references (Olly Alexander is the modern day Ivor Novello after all!) But beneath all the joy, glitter, wit and disco, this show says something incredibly important. At a time when every news bulletin seems determined to convince us the world belongs to division and hate, PRIDE reminds us of something far more powerful: We are always better when we come together. We achieve more. We love more. We care more. We stand taller together than we ever can apart. And together, we can challenge those who profit from keeping us divided. Now... where's the nearest picket line? I'm ready. (Disco style, obviously.) 💃🕺🎉🪩 And I haven't even mentioned the cast. The casting was perfection from top to bottom. Every single performer felt born to play their role. But Gillian Elisa absolutely stole the show for me. I would happily have watched two-and-a-half hours of just her. She was phenomenal. The acting. The singing. The dancing. The stagecraft. OH. MY. F*CKING. GOD. Just... Wow. I genuinely need a lie down. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #Pride #StephenBeresford #NationalTheatre #LoveOverHate #Theatre #MusicalTheatre #TheatreAtItsBest #TheBestOfTheBestOfTheBest And a huge thank you to @gemmaboaden for driving me literally door to door. Gem... I hope you believe in miracles now. The universe definitely has a fabulous sense of humour. ❤️✨ #Synchronicity #JointArtistsDate #TrulyAwesomeNight by @amybrownactor
She’s been at it again! Did you know Arabella has a masters degree from The M’eh-Cole School of puppetry?? Less than 90% of applicants get in. Needless to say, she is now available for kids parties and well…anything that pays cold hard cash. Deets are in the reel! #comedy #satire #silly #funny #actrice 🧦 😜🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 by @amybrownactor
