Where is the hearth from which you burn?
.
.
This piece hopes to remind the viewer of the threads that pique our curiosity, those that lead us into more awareness and understanding. It aims to place the viewer in the moment of discovery, before judgement and fear can take hold - where do we go now?
.
.
This was the first idea the spawned the series, the image of a light piece holding its cord was funny to me, enough to take months to make. This isn’t even the first time I tried to make it, the first lamp shrunk and changed so much in the firing that I couldn’t put the cord through it’s hands. Happy that it worked this time :) I’m currently working on my website and hope to upload all the progress photos/videos from this series - dm me if you want the password for the super rough version or sign up at lightheadead.com .

Bank. How do we choose?
.
Bank is a play on the conventional piggy bank, complete with coin slot and cork stopper but the belly is exposed, ribs and all… thus the act of retainment is a conundrum…You can’t take it with you.
.
So many things went wrong with this guy after it was sitting on the shelf waiting to be bisque-fired. I came back the next morning and his arm had broken off. Even after the fixes and glaze, I had to pry him off his cookie which required breaking his leg and ear/antennae. The coin slot works but doesn’t accept quarters, and the ramp I was trying to build inside doesn’t actually work the way I wanted. The luster got messy and made his eye and back zombie-like which doesn’t help that he’s “resting/dead” but c’est la vie.

Twins
.
Two vessels make up this piece, soft touches that asks the viewer who moved first? A hand on the knee, another on the shoulder, feet intertwined with gentle familiarity. The heart weighs heavy with no solution but comfort through acceptance.

I thought it would be poetic for the areas where they were touching be the only areas where they were joined. Turns out that makes for terribleeee construction. If you were to lift the two and twist one just any degree opposite than the other, in a bone-dry state, they will break and break it did. I’m glad it wasn’t worse than it was and I’m not sure why I had to stress myself out like that because all I wanted was them to come out solid together and yet the gentleness of their connection begged to be tested.

It’s been wild since semi-moving to England! I never thought I’d leave California but it’s been enlightening to leave my home state land for lush forests and countrysides - even English is spoken and used so differently. Im constantly reminded that everything here is older than my country 🤡…

Spam Accounts!?!

I’m flattered but also worried if anyone is getting weird messages from an account that looks like my name. Be warned! I’ll never ask for your personal information, only your deep dark emotional traumas and secrets in which I reciprocate and maybe go on a bit too much with.

Credit card info? - NO.

Repressed/unprocessed emotions that derive from insecure attachment styles (before the age of 2!) and thus create mind/body conflicts that we’re still awakening to AND accepting? - MAYBE.

💡💀✨Lightheadead.com is public! If you’re interested in any items, including pins and apparel, DM me! You can find most of my ceramic, some viewable 3D models, and even some bootleg shirt designs. 🤡

This year ceramics has taken a back seat because I moved across the pond (and all of America) from California to England, leaving my little 6x6ft shed studio behind - temporarily. I hope art for me will transition a bit (hopefully some more digital or 3D?) but we’ll see

Melted - Night (Available through link in bio)

The Melted Series are a collection of lamp vessels melting from the strength of one’s light. To develop self-authority can take a lifetime as we’re bound to make detrimental but ultimately informative choices, which become necessary lessons. These lamps express this inner-turmoil to persevere and integrate gently our mistakes into wisdom.

Aka a shroom trip. Go easy go slowly 🫠

💡 In other news, my online shop will be closing the 15th of May and won’t reopen until I’m back in the States! Digital goods will still be purchasable. I also started a Patreon! Not sure what I’m doing but join me! 🥳
