The Ginger Prince is done, for now.....it is so hard for me to leave it alone. I want to keep messing and touching but these paintings really are intended to be quick exercises. This one has about 9 hours in it. Moving on! I blocked in my next one for class next week. I'm excited about it!

You guys! I painted a landscape! 🤩🤩🤩 ok this is my second one, because the first one was SO bad I couldn't post it. I feel like i am learning something from every painting I make. Painting sketch #3. My precious little Lulu girl. She will always be a little hole in my soul. A little part of me thats gone missing. Best dog i ever had. I feel like I'm starting to let go of trying to get all the details like I would with color pencil or a sketch. I'm starting to feel the paint and what it can do. I get to move to color next and I'm terrified. Mixing local color has always been a huge challenge for me. by @amycornart

Another little painting sketch. She rough! Whew! Its humbling wading into something you're not automatically amazing at. But pain is growth and if I'm growing than I'm not stagnant. Art should never get stagnant. Every single sketch is another step toward being kind of okay at this. by @amycornart

Rough start to my oil painting journey. Its wild to me how I can be soooo good at drawing, and digital art but as soon as I start trying to blend my own colors and work with this new medium, its like I'm doing it with my non-dominant hand. This is a painting "sketch" . Done in about 4 hours. More practice on blending and mixing values than likeness. by @amycornart

I was trying to challenge myself. Drawing a woman with a veil over her - and it WAS a challenge. I felt like a bit of a masochist. Like why?!?! Why do I do these things. Not mt favorite, but it was good practice. by @amycornart

Taking a stroll back into fine art. Not for clients, just for myself. Taking some classes and brushing up on my skills. @fountatelier has been an excellent place to learn. Highly recommend if you live in the KC metro! by @amycornart

Yes, I'm still doing a bit of free lance, but only for a few of my forever amazing clients. And Jenn at @pinandpop will always be one of the best. I love getting to work in the Disney style and the design challenge of making everything work on a little bitty pin.

Believe it or not, I'm still out here doing a wee bit of free lance work from time to time and when Jenn at @pinandpop sends me a DM, the answer is always YES! I LOVE making these. Its the one time I can pretend I'm a Disney animator and flex my Disney cartooning muscles.

Just a little dragon magic! I drew the line work for this a while ago, and decided it needed color. Audrey’s love for dragons spills into all the corners of my world and I find myself drawing them all the time.
