Just a little about me, I’m Amydala.
For the last five years, I’ve been heavily immersed in the Kentucky music scene — playing out, pushing the sounds I love, and living and breathing techno. During that same time, I’ve spent my Memorial Day weekends immersed in Detroit for Movement, getting to know the scene, the culture, and the sounds that truly shaped my direction.
I’ve always been drawn to the darker, more hypnotic corners of electronic music. To me, a proper dance floor is a space to forget who and where you are, strip everything else away, and completely lose yourself in the music. That’s the energy I try to bring to the room every time I play.
Over the last few years, I’ve also found a deep love and respect for hardware. Right now, I’m spending a lot of time learning my Octatrack, shifting toward hardware workflows, and expanding what I can do with my live sound. I plan on documenting my progress here, showing both the wins and the fails as I figure out this machine.
To anchor this next chapter, I’m putting together a new mix on SoundCloud called “Queen of the Rumble.”
I’m using it as a direct reflection of who I am musically and a raw, vulnerable introduction to my identity as an artist and DJ. Just the dark and driving hypnotic rhythms that represent exactly how I want a room to feel when I’m behind the decks.
It drops this Wednesday.
The link is in my bio to follow my SoundCloud & the tracklist will be in the description. 🖤 by @amydala__
