This hits. Claudia found new community and belonging from her academic setback. Breaking the norm can yield opportunities to better know ourselves and find others who share our values.

Like in Middle School Dropout BSC #101, there are also moments or long periods of loneliness as our friends travel the same path, together. It can feel like they’ve disappeared.

Joi’s series exploring childlessness, in a society where prioritizing the nuclear family model is the overwhelming norm, seems made just for me. Claudia Kishi, Joi Arcand, you’re my artsy heroes. This work on show now at @centralartgarage
