Here’s the truth.

As I’ve said before, there is a strong part of me that feels it is entirely narcissistic to share a post about me, to ‘introduce’ myself. Even within my own online space.

Simultaneously, I can witness this as being anchored in fear of criticism, a fear of rejection, which is such a shared conditioning among us all.

But, it’s been three years since the last, almost to the day. And it feels timely.

My name is Amy.

Firstly, what I professionally stand for is being a beacon of keeping the facets of the yogic path alive for both students & teachers of the community.

I stand for:

– Yoga, beyond the performative
– The essential relationship between yoga & ayurveda
– Respecting & representing the full essence of yoga
– Sharing, wholeheartedly, aspects that are commonly lost within the mainstream

Personally, I am a mother of two, a wife, & a homemaker.

In the warmth of the sun & by the ocean I feel most harmoniously at home.

My fave foods are avocado, mango, & SOURSOP.

I stand for real masala chai, with copious amounts of fresh ginger.

I’m a Pitta/Vata constitution (Prakriti). But focus more on seasonal alignment.

Through the lens of Vedic astrology…

…My moon is in Pushya/Cancer, I’m Krittika/Taurus Rising, and Rohini/Taurus sun.

I was actually born on a Lagna Sandhi.

(In western astrology, which I no longer ascribe to if I’m honest, I’m a Gemini sun, Taurus rising, Leo moon)

For the Human Design nerds, I’m a 3/5 Single Definition Mental Projector.

My fave musical artists are Tori Amos & Me’Shell N’Degeocello.

My fave musical genres are: Hindustani & Carnatic, 90’s R&B, plus late 90’s / early 00’s alternative & dance (remember the Ministry of Sound days?!). NOSTALGIA!

Growing up I dreamed of being a mermaid.

I absolutely love handwork, painting with watercolours, & working with clay.

Even though I can speak & teach yoga in front of 20 or 200 people easily, at heart I am an introvert - I’d rather stay home & read than socialise any day. And I’m socially nervous (eg. after I socialise I go home & anxiously think over all the weird things I said).

Alright, that’ll do.

Can you relate to any of above?

Chuffed you’re here.

Have you ever envisioned publishing a book and transforming many lives in the process?

Writing, finishing, and publishing a book (with my dream publisher) has been one of the most rewarding and enriching experiences — one that has gifted me a great deal of insight.

Cliche, but absolutely a reflection of divine alignment and guidance on every level.

I feel compelled to offer a free live class online for yoga teachers and ayurvedic practitioners who would love to know more about my process for creating the framework of The Ocean of Yoga book, my writing process, my experience with traditional publishing (which I’ve loved!), and so much more.

Will be on Zoom with a recording available (for a short window of time) in case the day/time doesn’t suit.

Drop BOOK in a comment if you would like me to send you a DM when the details are finalised and you can register (for free).

Publishing a book isn’t about financial prosperity and all about posterity.

This is meaningful and transformative work that has an ongoing ripple effect that reaches so many!

My honour to share the little that I’ve come to know and experience thus far.

In service,

How special it was to have @amyelandry share her new book, The Ocean of Yoga with us at @ninyoga_ last weekend (especially on the day of Nin Yoga's 9th birthday!).

Amy has such a warm, kind presence, and a wealth of knowledge on the subject of yoga and what yoga means today.

Her book launch was unconventional in the best way - starting with gentle movement and pranayama (breathing techniques), so that we could not just think and talk about yoga, but to actually embody it.

I highly recommend reading this book if you're curious about yoga or want to dive deeper into it.

Already completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training, but feel you need support to further your integration and depth of understanding?

Perhaps you’re teaching already.
Perhaps you’ve been practising for years.

Somewhere along the way, you realised that 200 hours could hardly scratch the surface of this vast ocean of knowledge and practice.

The Shruti School of Yoga 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training is for yoga teachers who desire greater integration and understanding of the rich Indic sciences, including āyurveda and Jyotisha — beyond simply learning what to teach and understanding the wisdom that underpins the practices.

We delve yoga history, generous Sanskrit trainings, subtle anatomy, prāṇāyāma, meditation, āyurveda, traditional texts (beyond the Bhagavad Gita & Yoga Sutras), cultural context, the Vedic calendar, and so much more — all while developing the inner confidence and discernment to bring these teachings meaningfully into your own practice and offerings.

✨ 300-hour advanced teacher training
✨ 100% online
✨ Live teaching + mentoring
✨ For those with a 200-hour YTT or equivalent
✨ Open worldwide

If you’ve been waiting for the training that helps you move beyond simply being qualified merely on paper — and towards truly feeling qualified within — this is your next step.

Applications are about to close.

Unique among the sea of surface level, teacher trainings with its spiritual depth, respect for timeless, living tradition, and dedication to subtle teachings, this 300-hour program is a pathway for those who are no longer satisfied with surface-level instruction, for those who belong to steep in subtlety, sincerity, stewardship, and sacred responsibility.

Yoga teaching is a noble quest. One that requires integrity, humility, and clear vision. It demands, we all dig through the distortions and dilutions.

In a world where yoga is often reduced to form without essence, this training dares to return to the roots.

It is not about acquiring another certificate, but about inhabiting the teachings so they reshape how you live, perceive, and serve.

It is a 12 month program, with an additional extended six months access to the course portal to allow you greater time freedom to complete your studies in a way that offers you more spaciousness to assimilate the teachings and complete your assessments.

100% online, it is offered as a hybrid of generous pre-recorded content alongside live classes each week, conducted via Zoom.

There are partial scholarships available – applications for a partial scholarship close in 36 hours from now.

Payment plans are available.

Here at SSOY, we honor yoga, not as a commodity, but as a living wisdom tradition.

You will not be taught how to perform yoga.

You’ll be invited to remember it, to live it, and to carry it forward with integrity and inner authority.

Drop SHRUTI in a comment if you would like a DM with a link to more info, pricing, and dates.

Two free samples classes now also available to view if you’d like a look inside the program before making a decision.
