One day, when Lennox was as teeny tiny, I was pounding the pavements trying to get him to sleep. I was walking down by the river, and my mind start racing, the horrible intrusive thoughts… what if I lose control of the pram and he falls in? What if I lose control of my mind? Will sleep deprivation and baby blues make me lose it for a split second and I throw him in?

This used to happen A LOT. Any slight danger and my mind would imagine the most awful things happening to him, but mainly me.

This day, Lennox was looking up at me so I started chatting, cooing and smiling at him. Trying to get him to smile back!

A bloke wandered past staring, and I thought he we go (as we do ladies) but he stopped and smiled and said, “What a lucky little baby! Looking at his mums beautiful smile! Amazing mum, you.”

He saw what I didn’t see 🥲 I still think about it now and wish I could tell that slightly tipsy dude walking along Waterside that he helped heal a little part of me. by @amyfoster_face

This time three years ago, sat with my swollen feet up and practising my breathing through each tiny contractions. I thought they were just Braxton hicks 😅 Did anyone else think that? Even though you’re due, you don’t think it’s actually happening?

I had been to see my midwife that day, and told her about the sensations beginning. She booked me in for an induction for a week later 🤷🏻‍♀️ I told her you can do it but I won’t be going!

Funny that when I look back on my badger notes it was noted I was showing signs of early labour… But there was no home birth team on the next day, which I didn’t find out till we called in the morning 🙄

The rest of the story is for another day… but on this day, three years ago, I ate a full pizza, had an everything shower, tinted my eyebrows and put fake tan on. I knew by the evening that the next day would be go time! 👶🏼 by @amyfoster_face
