Life has been super chaotic lately, which leaves little room for reading. I will eventually get to this, but first I have to read the book club book - which I will start ASAP (but could take a while, as I write notes throughout the whole book ) 📖 But I'm excited! I'm sure this will be a fun lil read 👌🏻 by @amykatereads

It's been a really slow reading month. I've been super busy, and very tried, so I've been trying to pick up shorter books, so they don't feel like they're taking me forever. This little Novella was super cute! by @amykatereads

POV: the Bookstagram hype was 100% worth it. 📚✨. I’d been seeing XO Book Co all over my feed, so naturally the book club gals and I had to make the trip into city... and I honestly felt like a kid walking into a candy store.
Can we please talk about the adorable little step ladders for us fun-sized readers who can’t quite reach the top shelves? 🥹😂
I had my heart set on finding Kiss of a Basilisk... it was, of course, on the top shelf, but one of the tall girlies came to the rescue. I love this book community so much. ❤️
The interactive little touches throughout the store made browsing so much fun! You can tell this space has been curated by someone who genuinely love books (and readers). I only adopted three books today 📖✨
But it’s safe to say this won’t be my last visit...

Thank-you to the Author for the arc copy of this book!

WHERE DO I BEGIN?!
I only do spoiler free reviews, so without giving too much information, here I go..

The MFC was pretty interesting, I really enjoyed her career, and how she got to where she was. Her back story made her more multi-faceted. The ONE thing I personally didn't like about her was that she refers to herself as badass. I like when the characters are more humble.

Both MMCs had good things about them, but I'm a Micah fan, personally. 😏

I truly enjoyed both of the men, in different ways. But without giving spoilers, I don't forgive you Jake!

The side characters had enough to do with the story to make them all interesting too, but I didn't feel a huge connection to any of them in particular. Low-key like Janus & Vincent though 😂

The STORY was super interesting! I loved guessing what was going to happen next, and it was super enjoyable as it came together. (We all like the bad guy right? Or am I a lil freak?)

Anyway, if you like crime and paranormal books, def recommend 💅🏻
