I’m trying to draw when I can but that is becoming more and more of a rarity at this point. I decided to draw male anatomy for once, enjoyable but I still much prefer female. I look forward to drawing some more in the future.

I’ve been sketching here and there but nothing that I’m super proud of. This is one of the better ones. It’s hard to find time to sketch with a full time job. Anyway, need to learn how to not get unfathomably bored when drawing hair.

decided to challenge myself today with A FACE. crazy stuff. I’ve not drawn facial features since art GCSE but I’m mildly happy with this one and feeling good about maybe progressing with faces in the future :)

desperately need a white gel pen for highlights if anyone knows of a good one🤞🏻

using almost the entire page this time and continuing with utilising deeper shades. back to drawing female anatomy which is probably a comfort thing but looking forward to exploring some new things in the near future.

first time picking up the pencils in a while. went through a tough time and lost my love for all things creative but slowly getting back my spark. extremely happy with this one. tones getting darker and stronger which creates a more textured sketch. happy to be back doing something I love and a good alternative to doom scrolling

first time drawing any sort of male anatomy. really enjoyed this one, I find the male form interesting however seem to much prefer studying the female physique. continuing my theme of using especially prominent darker shades but still not leaning too far into this- this will develop later. happy with this one and enjoyed delving into male anatomy as well.

being less scared of using darker shades, giving the tonal drawing more depth. still shying away from faces but hopefully will begin to develop these later down the line.

this was the first drawing I felt proud of in a very long time. I think this kick-started my love for drawing again after art gcse drained every drop of creativity out of me. this was also one of the first times not using a stencil or tracing although I would say this practice helped me build up my confidence in shading. the stigma around stencils and tracing is dumb, do whatever you need to do to get a product YOU are happy with.
since this point, I enjoyed drawing because it felt successful to me.
I’m still happy with this one.

first time on canvas with charcoals and absolutely adore the texture it gave me!! slowing getting better at observational work. the white charcoals pencil are a gift from god and give the drawing so much dimension. happy with this piece and glad to explore new textures.
