Please stop by if you’re around! 🧡🌵Repost from @ryan_schneider_ 👇🏽Quality Coins, Ry Rocklen and I are excited to present a curated room of art objects by So-Cal artists at the @highdesertartfair, taking place March 28 + 29 at the Pioneertown Motel, Pioneertown, CA. Proceeds from sales go directly to help High Desert causes.Works by established and emerging LA based and local High Desert artists will be accessibly priced and can be taken home directly from the fair.Proceeds from sales will go towards two local efforts fighting to protect our desert lands and the immigrant community in the Morongo Basin. Firstly, to support a lawsuit filed against the destructive Lovemore Ranch real estate development - a proposed development of 64 new-build homes with a private sewage treatment plant, non-local developers are attempting to build in protected wildlife habitats, right in the town of Joshua Tree. Also, funds will go to Morongo Basin Solidarity, a local effort that provides mutual aid to immigrants in our community that are under attack by ICE and US Border Patrol. MBS is providing vendor buyouts, financial and food + housing assistance to vulnerable immigrants who are afraid to leave their homes thus cannot work, or have had family members kidnapped by ICE. MBS is also currently helping re-settle two men that were kidnapped and deported by ICE from the Yucca Valley Home Depot last month and providing legal aid to an asylum seeker that has been in ICE detention since July. by @amykimkeeler
